Conference League Quali, 1st round, second leg, Thursday, 18.07.2024 at 21:00
In the second leg of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League, two relatively unknown teams, Plavo-bijeli and the men from south-western Kosovo, will face each other.
In the first leg a week ago, the Kosovars created a very good starting position for the second encounter with a 1-0 win.
Will they now take the lead and win again on foreign soil? My Buducnost Malisheva tip is quite optimistic in this regard
The first qualifying rounds for the UEFA competitions have their very own charm. The fact that there was a pre-tournament for the qualifying matches in Kopavogur, Iceland, last year alone is somewhat crazy.
The hosts also had to compete in one last year. However, the aim was to qualify for the Champions League.
This attempt went badly wrong with a 0:5 defeat against Beidablik Kopavogur. The Montenegrins then also failed to qualify for the Europa League against FC Struga.
Now, however, they are hoping to make it to their first UEFA tournament. But the home side already have their backs to the wall again after a narrow defeat the previous week
The fact that coach Ivan Brnovic’s team only finished third in the Montenegrin league and not second as planned should weigh less heavily.
Rivals Mornar Bar, who finished exactly three points ahead of Plavo-bijeli, have been given a stronger draw in the first round with Dinamo Tbilisi.
After all, the Kosovars are still a relatively small club that is likely to be at least individually inferior to the home side. But that didn’t bother them in the first leg.
Theoretically, a draw is enough for the visitors to progress. If they don’t lose, you can pick up double odds of around 1.55 on the Buducnost Malisheva tip at bookmaker Bwin
The visitors must first and foremost make sure that they don’t let themselves be pushed to the wall right from the start.
At least that was often the case away from home at the end of last season. When they played the top teams away from home, they usually lost. They have not won away from home in three games (1U, 2N).
If the home side end up winning by at least two goals, you can expect odds of just over 3.70.
It won’t be a walk in the park for the Kosovars to make it through to the next round and thus the matches against CSKA Sofia.
Offensively, the Montenegrins will have to cope with the departure of top talent Vasilije Adzic, who has moved to Juventus. However, veterans such as Ivanovic and Grbic continue to carry the team
On the other side, Dirlon Hazrollaj is a constant source of danger. He contributed 25 goals and nine assists in pre-season alone.
However, it is doubtful that there will be a high-scoring game. At bookmaker Bet365 you will find Buducnost Malisheva odds of around 1.80 if both teams score at least one goal
The first leg was no treat. There were just ten goals on show. Not from one team, but in the entire match!
The home side are definitely under pressure. That could at least ensure that things are a little livelier than they were a week ago. But I still don’t expect a festival of chances.
That’s why my Buducnost Malisheva tip is: Under 2.5 goals in the match!
