NFL 2024/25: Cardinals – Lions
I’m not going to beat about the bush. I personally trust my Cardinals Lions tip so much that I’ve put a large sum on the American football team of the moment.
I placed a €150 bet in the Betano app this week on the Cardinals and Saints to win, which are the two teams that made the biggest splash in Week 2.
Arizona in particular were not expected to do much this season, but they have put in two outstanding performances so far.
Firstly, a very close 28-34 win against a top team like the Bills, but it was against the Rams that the men from the south-west of the USA really turned on the heat.
Their 41-10 win over the Rams was a football lesson for any aspiring offensive coordinator: 5 touchdowns, 2 field goals.
Arizona has a good chance to win against Detroit on Sunday based on several factors. First, Kyler Murray is expected to continue to shine against Detroit’s young and inexperienced secondary.
The Lions have had major problems with opposing passing games and quarterbacks who are mobile like Murray. His ability to extend plays with his legs at all times presents a challenge that has often overwhelmed Detroit in the past.
If the Cardinals focus more on the passing game this time around instead of forcing the run game, which is a strength of the Lions’ defense, they have a good chance to make decisive plays.
Murray will likely gain over 400 yards in space thanks to both his passing and explosive rushing.
That offensive punch, coupled with at least one expected rushing touchdown, could turn the game into a high-scoring duel that Detroit will be hard-pressed to match.
Another deciding factor is rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. who has already plucked down two TD balls in the young season.
Harrison Jr. brings size, speed and talent, making him a dangerous matchup for Detroit’s still unsettled cornerbacks.
Despite improvements on paper, the Lions secondary isn’t quite in sync yet, and Harrison Jr. could take advantage of those matchup issues with his strong physicality in 1-on-1 duels.
To summarize, Murray’s explosiveness and Harrison Jr.’s specific skill set at the wide receiver position alone should, in theory, pose a particular threat to the visitors. I can already give you my word and seal on that.
I can only repeat myself at this point: If the Cardinals focus on their own passing game, there’s a good chance they’ll run over the Lions in a fast, offense-driven game just as quickly as they did the Rams the week before.
And let’s face it, Detroit hasn’t knocked anyone’s socks off this season. Their 16-20 loss the previous week to a shorthanded Tampa Bay team that couldn’t have been weaker was simply embarrassing!
Let’s take a look together at some exciting Cardinals Lions odds and records that are particularly suitable for betting on this game.
While the season is still very young, the aforementioned Marvin Harrison Jr. has scored two touchdowns, leading the entire NFL in this category.
With odds of 2.62, a bet on another touchdown from Harrison Jr. would be well worthwhile. The rookie has the necessary talent and the matchup against a mediocre secondary also plays into his hands.
Incidentally, Kyler Murray has posted at least 230 passing yards in each of his last seven September games against NFC opponents.
His consistently good performances this month make a strong showing on Sunday all the more likely. And that’s why I’m not worried that his wide receiver will “starve” against the Lions.
Now it’s getting really interesting: The Lions have lost 21 of their last 24 away games against NFC West teams.
The average betting odds of 2.25 for a Cardinals win without a “safety handicap” is therefore a promising option for the braver bettors among you.
Conclusion: Although I’m putting up a safety net for you with my Cardinals Lions betting tip and the +3.5 handicap, I personally won’t be doing so.
The impressions of how the Cards roared over the Rams last week are still far too vivid for me not to believe they can put on another great performance in this match-up.
The Lions didn’t even get it done last week against an extremely depleted secondary like the Bucs and now have to travel to far away Arizona.
