Chelsea – Brentford betting tip, prediction & odds 12/15/2024

Premier League, Sunday, December 15, 2024, 8:00 PM CET

They are the new second force on the island, the first pursuer of Liverpool FC, the club that, in terms of our Premier League championship betting, wants to be there when the leader slips up! In England’s capital, the color blue is proudly worn again.

On Sunday, an important match against the best home team in the league will take place at Stamford Bridge – but they are completely losing out away from home!

Reason enough to tell you everything about this interesting duel in my Chelsea Brentford betting tip and to reveal why I am thinking offensively here and favor the combo “BTS & Over 2.5 goals”.

Conference League? Phew, that’s a bit of a mouthful for some people! Chelsea FC naturally see themselves more in the premier league, but in recent years they have simply not been good enough for that.

The Blues are aiming to make a fresh challenge in 2024/25. Fifteen matchdays may not be enough to draw any meaningful conclusions, but how are they doing so far? They’re doing wonderfully! With nine wins, four draws and two defeats, the club is in second place.

Liverpool are four points behind, but they still have a game in hand. The Blues have hit a rich vein of form that has delighted their fans.

Last fall, they had a run of three wins in a row, and now they’ve got four in a row! 2-1 against Leicester, 3-0 against Aston Villa, 5-1 against Southampton and 4-3 against Tottenham – God knows there’s no chance of anyone getting bored here.

At least one hat-trick has been scored in six games, and the 14 goals from the last four games are particularly impressive. The Blues were 2-0 down against Tottenham, so their morale is also very strong.

Now, of course, I could accuse the team in second place of the table: Hey, you’ve only kept a clean sheet once since September! But let’s be honest: if you’re as convincing in offense as Chelsea are, you can be forgiven for a slip-up or two, especially from a neutral perspective.

Incidentally, Chelsea have distributed their last 14 goals very fairly, with seven of them scored before half-time and the other seven after. Interestingly, three of those four wins have been away from home.

6-1-1 – this has propelled the Blues to the top of the away table. But what is even more interesting is that with 23:10 goals, an average of 4.13 goals per game is calculated away from home.

At home in London, the picture is somewhat different. Here, with only three wins from seven games, we have seen 12:8 goals – on average “only” 2.9 per game. Four home games actually stayed under the 2.5 goal mark.

But there were never fewer than two. So it probably also depends on the opponent how many goals are scored in total. Brentford is one that Chelsea have thrived on in recent years.

Three wins and two draws, three clean sheets, that’s strong. Now the Londoners are allowed to play in front of their fans, and as second in the table, they are of course the clear favorites.

At our tax-free betting providers, the odds are climbing to an average of 1.30 to 7.75. That won’t just be because Chelsea are currently second.

Brentford is a team that presents two completely different faces.

At home, no one is stronger, with the Bees having seven wins, one draw and 24 goals. But whenever they leave home, suddenly nothing works.

The record: a single point, six defeats, five measly goals! While there are home festivals like a 5-3, a 4-3, a 4-1 or a 4-2 (nobody scores more often at home), the Bees fail away from home every time.

But at least they only failed to score twice, with five games ending one-nil. This is an ideal fact for those who bet with Interwetten. You can bet that the Bees will only score once on Sunday.

The odds for this climb to a profitable 2.45. The away defeats also usually follow a certain pattern. Three times 1:2, twice 1:3 and once 0:2, Brentford is not really “played”.

To be fair, I also have to take a look at the teams that Brentford have played away from home. Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Fulham? There is truly no unknown name among them!

The tough nuts are almost all through in terms of away games, so it’s quite possible that the record on the road will suddenly improve shortly. Too bad Chelsea is still one of those tough nuts.

Chelsea is in absolute gala form, which of course should not break down just before the turn of the year. It is interesting to note that the Londoners are much wilder away than at home – and also score more.

Something that cannot be said at all about Brentford. The Bees have collected exactly one point away from home, but score five times as many goals at home. But Chelsea have only kept a clean sheet at home once, as we all know.

So I dare to take the risk that Sunday will see a lot of goals in the English capital. Brentford ultimately hold their own well away from home, but have already thrown away a 1-0 lead four times. So my tip is:

If there are more than 2.5 goals, both will score!
