Today’s schedule is almost the same as yesterday! After two quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Masters of the ATP & WTA, there are still two recommendations for tennis betting on the Challenger in Qebec this Friday.
Tennis Tips Today – 21.08.2026: Quarterfinals in Cincinnati!
In my Tennis Tips section today, I’ll go through with you how I would approach the exciting quarterfinals in Cincinnati in the betting shop.
What is clear, however, is that overseas the US duel between Fritz and Nakashima will receive the most attention. Because the two Americans are very popular nationwide!
Cincinnati Tips today 21.08.: Fritz – Nakashima (21:00)
This is the highlight of the day! Fritz is clearly ahead in a direct comparison and won only a few weeks ago in the semifinals in Washington.
Nakashima holds up well on hard court as a strong counterattacker, but rarely has the right recipe against Fritz’s powerful serve and extremely flat, fast groundstrokes.
When Fritz’s first serve is right, as in the match against O’Connell, he simply dominates the rallies over the forehand at will.
My tip: Fritz does it, probably with a smooth 2:0 set victory!
Cincinnati Betting Tonight: Musetti – Tiafoe (02:30)
On fast hard courts, Tiafoe can play anyone with the home crowd behind him and his enormous power on good days, but his game often fluctuates from set to set.
Musetti, on the other hand, currently has the much more variable blade – if he lures Tiafoe out of his comfort zone with a lot of cut and forces him into long rallies, the American quickly loses patience.
After all, Musetti recently showed Tiafoe the limits in exactly this way at the French Open.
My tip: Longer rallies go to the Italian!
Cincinnati tips today: Beljek – Keys (19:00)
In the women’s competition, two completely different worlds collide today. Bejlek is the young, nimble left-hander who prefers to bite into long rallies and acts with a lot of cut.
On fast hard court, however, brute force reigns – and that’s exactly where Keys is at home. When the American hits her serve and whips the forehand, she dictates the action completely at will.
Bejlek would have to constantly move keys and hope for his own mistakes to have a chance. Over the full distance, however, Keys will simply keep the pace too high.
My tip: I’m leaning towards a 2:0 for Keys!
Cincinnati prediction today: Gauff – Kostyuk (01:00 CEST)
In a direct comparison, Gauff is just ahead, but Kostyuk has annoyed the American several times in the past. Kostyuk plays extremely aggressively and takes full risks. When the balls fly around her ears, she can push any top player against the wall.
However, Gauff brings a class defensively that regularly drives Kostyuk to despair. The American forces Kostyuk to one more extra ball – and that’s exactly where the error rate often creeps in with the Ukrainian under pressure.
On hard court, the somewhat more stable athleticism and the better second serve are the deciding factors for crowd favorite Coco.
My tip: Gauff just ahead!
Quebec bets today 21/08: Bonzi – Van Assche (17:00)
Now we’re hopping north of the border to Canada! In Bonzi against Van Assche, two Frenchmen clash who know each other inside out.
Van Assche is the defensive wall of the ball – extremely nimble on his feet, tough and tactically clever, who engages you in long rallies and waits for your mistakes. Bonzi has the slightly greater penetration on serve and forehand, but also blunders faster when the rhythm breaks.
On a faster surface, Bonzi has the weapons to cut the points short, but Van Assche simply brings more consistency and to the net at the moment. He will play the ball back to Bonzi ten times and thus force him to make plenty of mistakes, as he did in the last showdown!
My tip: Van Assche beats Bonzi for the 2nd time in a row!
Quebec Tips Tonight: De Jong – Gaston (6:10 p.m.)
Gaston is the absolute troublemaker on the pitch: Constant stops, a lot of cut, constant rhythm changes – the Frenchman extremely likes to pull the tooth of his opponents and bring them to despair.
De Jong actually likes the more solid, classic baseline game with a good move forward. If the Dutchman stays calm and doesn’t let Gaston reach into his bag of tricks, he has the slightly better cards in his hand!
Gaston breaks in faster on hard court, as he did recently against Budkov Kjaer and Chan, as soon as the opponent simply denies him the depth!
My tip: The Dutchman should do it!
