Al-Ain’s 5-1 defeat to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in the Asian Champions League was too much for Al-Ain. The club from the United Arab Emirates, which sits bottom of the group stage of the competition with just one point after four games, has now pulled the ripcord and sacked its coach Hernan Crespo. The 49-year-old former Argentina international striker had taken up his post in November 2023 – and led the club to the Champions League title last season.
