The form was so strong, the title chance in our Premier League champion betting was actually there, the fans so euphoric – but now all the good vibes in the capital are back in the bin!
Anyone who follows the Blues there will be rubbing their eyes in amazement at the latest results. Things are no longer going well, and the upcoming away game is by no means a foregone conclusion.
In my Crystal Palace Chelsea betting tip, I’ll tell you why I’ve set my sights on the BTS bet for this game:
Five wins in a row, 16 goals – no wonder dreams came true! Chelsea FC were in really strong form, losing only to Manchester City (0:2 on matchday one) and Liverpool (1:2) up to Boxing Day.
They were in high spirits and wanted to put Liverpool under further pressure. But then came the legendary Boxing Day. The 0-0 draw against Everton had not been planned, the good performances of the offense were suddenly over
What followed was initially a disappointing 2-1 draw against Fulham, the opponent snatched the point in the last minute, the lead of the Blues did not last until the end. Worse was to come, however, as they suddenly lost 2-0 at Ipswich!
Against a team that had been promoted, had yet to win at home and was at the bottom of the table – Chelsea couldn’t afford to do that. The team has now gone three games without a win, an unfortunate first in 2024/25.
The attack has never been so weak this season, scoring just one goal in that time. That one goal, of course, came from their most dangerous striker Cole Palmer, who has netted twelve times.
The defeat in Ipswich was also surprising because Chelsea usually have no problems away from home. The Blues are still second in the away table, having won six of their ten games.
It is now the second time that they have failed to win twice in a row away from the English capital – but it was a first that these two matches also ended goalless.
The opponents, Everton and Ipswich, were anything but strong, and now another team from the lower end of the table awaits in Crystal Palace. Of course, it’s a good thing that Chelsea have enjoyed playing against Crystal Palace for years
Well, they only drew 1-1 in the first half of the season, but they had won 14 times in a row before that! The last time they lost was in October 2017, a long time ago. In this respect, I’m not surprised that the Blues are favored this weekend.
The odds at our PayPal bookmakers are estimated at 3.60 to 1.90, which means that a win for the home side would not be an absolute sensation. Crystal Palace, as in most recent years, can be found in mid-table, but currently in the bottom half.
No wonder, as they have only won four of their 19 games. The Eagles have already shared the points eight times and suffered seven defeats. Of course, I have to take a closer look at the results, especially those against top teams.
One loss from the past eight rounds? It’s been pretty consistent these weeks! Whether at home or away, it really doesn’t make a difference for the Eagles this season.
So let’s take a look at the results against the best teams. A few weeks ago, they lost 5-1 to Arsenal, while the 1-0 draw against Liverpool was much closer
0:1 against Nottingham, 1:1 against Newcastle, 1:1 in the first leg against Chelsea, 2:2 against Manchester City and 0:0 against Bournemouth? Crystal Palace are actually holding their own against the best clubs in the league with the Arsenal exception!
Since they won 2-1 against Southampton a few days ago, that means they have to win two home games in a row for the first time this season!
Don’t let them slip into a real crisis! Chelsea FC are somewhat perplexed by the last few games, as nobody saw this weak phase coming. Liverpool have now pulled away from them in the table.
In the small derby against Crystal Palace, the aim is therefore to win again and, above all, score goals, as this has been lacking of late. But beware, the Eagles have done anything but badly in my analysis, as they are in wonderful form.
Oliver Glasner’s team hardly ever loses and – apart from the Gunners – has kept up well with all the top teams. I therefore believe that we will see a lively game in which the following tip could be correct:
Both teams score!
