FCK fans could be overly interested in a Dinamo Minsk Ludogorez Rasgrad tip at a betting provider with fast payouts this Wednesday.
One of the Palatinate club’s top performers from last season moved to Bulgaria around two weeks ago – and celebrated a dream debut in the first leg of the 2025/26 Champions League qualifier, even crowning it with a goal.
Ludogorez Rasgrad has once again won the Bulgarian championship title – for the fourteenth time in a row! There is hardly any serious competition domestically, with the “Eagles” dominating at will.
However, they continue to struggle internationally, even though the big dream of reaching the Champions League group stage remains the same goal year after year.
They last achieved this dream in the 2016/17 season – since then, they have regularly been knocked out before reaching that stage.
And this year, too, the signs are not necessarily pointing to a breakthrough.
Although they have been drawn against Dinamo Minsk, a beatable opponent in the first qualifying round, the first leg in Razgrad once again revealed an old problem: lots of possession, lots of shots, little reward.
The 1-0 win was deserved, but overall far too meagre – especially considering how dominant Ludogorez was. Over 70 per cent possession, more than 20 shots, hardly any real danger in front of goal…
At least the new man in central midfield, Filip Kaloc, seems to be a real asset. Signed from 1. FC Kaiserslautern for €2.8 million, he is expected to provide structure, technique, and passing reliability – and he made a strong debut.
But even he couldn’t fix the Bulgarians’ biggest problem: finishing.
So the question is: Is 1-0 enough for the second leg in Minsk? In an emotionally charged away game, with Eastern European toughness and an opponent who knows that only one goal is needed to take the game into extra time, Ludogorez will be under pressure.
And that has often been the downfall of the Rasgrad team in the past – not in terms of their play, but mentally.
Of course, the individual quality speaks for the Bulgarians. Players such as Camara, Caio Vidal and Tekpetey have the ability to hurt any opponent in this round. But without efficiency and composure in front of goal, the narrow first-leg result could come back to haunt them.
Watch out: Dinamo Minsk has lost seven of its last eight European matches – a real negative sign. During this period, they managed just one win against Northern Irish side Larne, which, objectively speaking, is not a great reference.
So anyone who doesn’t think much of the Belarusians on the international stage can back that up with figures.
But be careful, it’s not quite as simple as that: coincidentally, Dinamo Minsk and Ludogorez Rasgrad already faced each other last year – in the second round of Champions League qualifying.
And although the Bulgarians ultimately progressed with an aggregate score of 2-1, Dinamo won their home game 1-0.
However, it is important to note that the Belarusians’ “home game” a year ago took place at the Mezokovesdi Varosi Stadium in Hungary, just like this Wednesday’s match.
This fact adds an interesting twist to the encounter. Anyone looking at the Dinamo Minsk Ludogorez Rasgrad odds and fancying another win for the underdogs in Hungary will find a real precedent here.
After all, last season showed that Ludogorez can be vulnerable away from home despite their individual superiority – especially if they fail to convert their chances as they did in the first leg.
