Though Dortmund are lagging a little behind the Bundesliga leaders, they were at least able to avoid a super-GAU in last Friday’s clash.
They also had a few more days than most of the other Champions League contenders to prepare for this eagerly awaited second matchday in the top flight.

That includes a 3-0 win over Rangers in the league and a 5-1 victory over Slovan Bratislava on the first Champions League matchday.
Not bad, but last year’s Champions League finalists will push them to their limits for the first time in my opinion.

Interesting side note: Back then, the Germans also won 1:0 away against Club Brugge in their first game.
I understand that Celtic are starting the season with high expectations. But this wouldn’t be the first time – and how has it usually ended so far? Not well!
Celtic have lost their last five Champions League visits and haven’t won any of their last eight (1 draw, 7 defeats).
In fact, the Bhoys’ last win in their first away game of a Champions League season was a while ago: that was in September 2017, when they beat RSC Anderlecht 3-0 – and that remained their only win of the entire 2017/18 season.
I personally would watch out for the aforementioned Gittens if I were you. Because although he only came on as a substitute in the 68th minute against Club Brugge, Jamie Gittens scored two of the three goals in his team’s 3-0 win.
That’s remarkable, because he only needed 22 minutes on the pitch to do so – the fewest minutes a Borussia Dortmund player has needed to score a brace in a Champions League match.

Celtic are having a great season by their standards, but they’ll realize this Tuesday that a different wind is blowing in continental Europe.
They may have beaten Slovan Bratislava 5:1 on the first matchday, but Dortmund, as we all know, are cut from a completely different cloth.
Moreover, I wouldn’t be so critical of the Black & Yellows’ performances so far. I like the way Dortmund are playing under Nuri Sahin and that should pay off against Glasgow.
