Egnatia – Celje Tip Champions League, 2nd qualifying round, first leg on Wednesday, 22.07.2026 at 21:00 CET
In the 2nd round of the Champions League qualifiers, KS Egnatia wants to cause a surprise and knock the favored NK Celje out of the competition. Will the first surprise succeed in the first leg in front of a home crowd?
In my Egnatia Celje tip, I assume that the Albanians could be dangerous to the Slovenians. Egnatia has won five of the last six games and can go into the qualifying duel with a broad chest.
That’s why I’m targeting the classic “Both teams to score” at odds around 1.85. I don’t think Celje can win to nil, especially since NK is only starting the competition, while Egnatia has already eliminated Petrocub (1-1, 6-1).
Egnatia vs. Celje AI Predictions:
Of course, our AI model is also at the start of the new Champions League season and provides you with additional betting alternatives in its Egnatia Celje AI prediction.
The fact is that Egnatia is interested in rather goal-rich clashes. In six of the Albanians’ last eight games, the 2.5-goal mark has been cracked. The odds around 2.00 at Betano Germany for “Over 2.5 hits” are accordingly not a bad idea of the digital brain.
Predicted chance of winning:
| Victory Egnatia |
Draw |
Victory Celje |
| 28% |
27% |
45% |
Also worth considering is the bet “draw at half-time” (odds at 2.05). Egnatia is traditionally strong at home and should demand everything from the favourites. The fact that the game goes into the break with a 1-1 draw is an extremely realistic scenario.
However, if you want to be on the safe side, you are well advised to select “Egnatia over 0.5 goals”. The Albanians have scored at least one goal in each of their last nine games. The odds are scratching the 1.50 mark across the board.
What you need to consider when betting on Egnatia vs. Celje
- Both teams will meet for the first time ever.
- Egnatia has never made it into a European Cup main round up to this point. In the previous season, they were already defeated in the 1st round of the CL qualifiers by Breidablik.
- Celje was in the round of 16 of the Conference League last season. There they lost to AEK Athens (2-0, 0-4).
- Celje has won only one of the last five games.
- Egnatia have only drawn once since April – 1-1 against Petrocub.
