EM tips today – predictions for June 21
A highly interesting day ahead at Euro 2024, culminating in the top match of Group D: the Netherlands vs. France! A footballing tidbit between two teams who have started the tournament with three points and are fighting for the group win.
On Friday, I have the honor of presenting you with today’s European Championship tips. Our team of authors has once again diligently analyzed the teams for you, compared the betting providers and found the best odds in order to find the best European Championship bet.
This much can already be said: it is first and foremost a day of goal betting, which is clearly due to the fact that there is hardly a favorite in the three matches. Only our European Championship expert Christian Capponi, who likes to access the higher odds, is convinced of an Austria victory in his European Championship prediction
Slovakia – Ukraine Euro betting tip
No expert would have thought that Slovakia would be in second place after the first group game. Against Belgium, the Falcons were the clear underdogs. But the heavy favorites were unable to make up for the early deficit and only scored two irregular goals, which were conceded by the VAR.
Ukraine, on the other hand, found themselves in a pressure situation with a bitter 0:3 defeat against Romania. Hardly anyone could have seen that coming either; Group E has been the surprise of Euro 2024 so far. Ukraine were unable to do much despite the numerous stars in the team.
Serhij Rebrow’s team hardly created any top chances and he was even banned from the dressing room by his own team after the game for a crisis meeting. My colleague Isabella Strehmann agrees that there is little potential for a major turnaround.
She sees too many problems for the Blue & Yellows and expects a tactical affair and few goals against the defensively strong Slovakians, who are not condemned to win, expressed as a European Championship tip: under 2.5 goals. The odds are set at the official partner of the tournament, Betano.
Poland – Austria Euro prediction
Poland vs Austria, the losers’ duel of the first matchday in Group D with the hammer opponents from France and the Netherlands. Given the chance, the Dutch could have scored a resounding victory against Poland, but Lewandowski’s team, who was only on the bench due to injury, had too many problems in defense.
At the same time, there were only a few successful transitional moments. The Austrian national team also possesses enormous quality, and although they were unable to break down the French defense, they put up strong resistance against the two-time world champions.
In any case, Ralf Rangnick has a strong squad, and it is not for nothing that they are considered the secret favorites by most experts. Austria have won six of their last seven games before the start of the tournament, including against Germany (2:0). They were only one point short of group winners Belgium in qualifying.
Christian sees Austria as the more mature team, which is why he dares to take the odds of victory in the duel between the two nations, adding under 3.5 goals to his bet at Bet365. He also takes into account that Lewandowski could be back on the pitch against Austria
Netherlands – France Euro Prediction
For the last match of the day, I have written a preview myself, the Netherlands France odds first: the goal of both teams, a classic among sports betting, which should not be missing at Betano. Incidentally, you can bet on the European Championships there initially without making a deposit. New customers receive a 20 euro free bet without a deposit.
France and the Netherlands will battle it out to win the group. I don’t anticipate a prolonged period of feeling out. Holland will play boldly forward against any opponent and France will not hide in their own half either. What’s more, both teams will be able to play with more confidence with three points behind them.
We will see star striker Kylian Mbappe on the pitch with a mask, if at all, due to his broken nose. With or without him, both offenses have so much width that the absence of the new Real Madrid striker would not have a huge impact on my betting tip.
Incidentally, the Netherlands and France will be playing out their 31st duel, the last two of which we only saw in the qualifiers, with France coming out on top both times. After the strong performance against Poland, I’m not so sure that Oranje will leave the pitch as losers again. That’s why I prefer to avoid the 1X2 market
