Everton v Wolverhampton betting tip, prediction & odds 12/04/2024

Premier League, Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 8:30 p.m.

It’s a basement duel! While Liverpool are currently turning lonely circles at the top of the Premier League, there are teams that are not getting off the ground at all. Two of them will face each other directly on Wednesday.

Both clubs have won twice at Goodison Park – one of them hardly scores at all, while the other scores all the time! No question about it, I have some exciting questions to answer in my Everton Wolverhampton tip and I’ll also tell you why I’m more likely to go with the guests!

They couldn’t be more different, even though they both have the same goal! Everton FC are on eleven points, Wolverhampton on nine, for both it’s just a matter of somehow staying in this league.

As I mentioned at the beginning, the playing styles of these two teams are extremely different. I’ll start my analysis with the guests from Wolverhampton – because where they are, the spectacle is usually not far away!

At 22:32 goals, the average is 4.2 goals per game. There is no worse defense far and wide; only in the 2-0 win against bottom-placed Southampton did they keep a clean sheet.

Overall, there were only three games in which they conceded fewer than two goals. But the offense doesn’t look so bad. They only failed to score on the first matchday, and a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal is definitely forgivable.

This season got off to a bad start with seven defeats and a draw. Then it seemed as if the Wolves had recovered. 2:2 against Brighton and Crystal Palace, 2:0 against Southampton and 4:1 against Fulham? What an offensive fireworks display!

The recent 2:4 against Bournemouth destroyed the positive series, so once again it was the defense that did a lot of damage. On the positive side, Wolverhampton has always scored at least twice in five games.

Therefore, I look at Bet365 and see: the bet “Over 1.5 goals Wolverhampton” brings odds of 2.75, which looks profitable even BEFORE using the Bet365 betting credits!

And what about the bet that Wolves will concede at least two goals? A 2.00 is possible, so here the risk (certainly due to the away game) is a little lower.

Two defeats in their last five away games? The Yellow and Blacks don’t make such a bad impression away from home. With Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen, they have a top attacking duo that has already scored 13 goals together.

How will the team feel on their way to Everton on Wednesday? The guests have not been beaten in six games, winning five of them – including the last three away from home.

Nevertheless, when Wolverhampton march onto the pitch this time, they will be playing the role of the underdog. Our German bookmakers agree that they see Everton with an average of 2.10 to 3.50 ahead.

Everton FC is the club that is actually in a similar position to Wolverhampton, but has achieved its (few) points in a completely different way. 10:21 goals? The average is 2.4 – for Wolves it was 4.2!

The Toffees have not scored in four games, and they have already failed to score seven times this season. 0:1 against Southampton, 0:0 against West Ham and Brenford, 0:4 against Manchester United, the current trend is alarming.

After conceding just four goals in eight games, the defeat against the Red Devils was quite surprising, and for the second time they conceded two goals before half-time.

2:1 against Crystal Palace, 0:0 against Newcastle, 1:1 against Ipswich, 0:0 against Brentford? The last four home games all ended in a point, but the neutral spectator had little to cheer about.

Everton have never managed to score in the first half. At Betano, the appropriate bet that no goal will be scored in the first half is available at odds of 1.80.

Everton scrimps, Wolverhampton splurges! Offensively, both teams couldn’t be more different, and the same applies to defense. The Toffees’ results are rather unspectacular, while the guests represent the opposite.

This made it all the more difficult for me to pick a favorite, of course. The visitors ended a strong run against Bournemouth, but Everton lost their last game 4-0 against Manchester United.

All in all, I see Wolves as the slight favorite in this encounter, also because the historical fact has spoken for them. That’s why I’m advising you to place the following bet:

Everton will not beat Wolverhampton!
