Borussia Mönchengladbach have clarified the succession of Eugen Polanski. On Tuesday afternoon, the Foals announced the appointment of Alexander Blessin as their new head coach. He will receive a contract until 2028. After foreign stints at CFC Genoa and Union Saint-Gilloise, the 53-year-old moved to FC St. Pauli in the summer of 2024. With the Kiezkicker, he kept the class in the first year before relegation took place in his second season this summer. Subsequently, the Hamburg team finally parted ways with Blessin in June.
