Julian Nagelsmann has nominated four goalkeepers for Germany’s provisional Euro 2024 squad of 27 players and originally wanted them to take part in the tournament.
When the European Championship squad was announced, not only Manuel Neuer and Marc-Andre ter Stegen were named, but also Oliver Baumann and Alexander Nübel.

Nine places in the Germany Euro 2024 squad are reserved for the defense.
Five players have been nominated for the central defense, while four players have been named for the full-back positions.

The central defense
In defense, Antonio Rüdiger and Jonathan Tah have secured their place in the Germany EURO 2024 squad. Both will be regular starters at the EURO.
Having never been nominated under Julian Nagelsmann, Nico Schlotterbeck will be at the European Championship finals. His strong final spurt including outstanding performances on the way to the Champions League final tipped the scales in his favor.
Waldemar Anton is a player in the German squad for Euro 2024 who was only invited to the DFB for the first time in March. He is likely to be the first back-up.
