Will Jürgen Klopp’s magic lose its shine in the first international break? The DFB team is under pressure after a capital false start and urgently needs a win to keep the chance of winning the group.

Despite the 1-0 defeat, Germany dominated the game against Greece with 76% possession and twice as many shots. In the end, the only thing missing was the necessary efficiency and inventiveness in front of the opponent’s goal.
I expect a similar picture against Serbia. The German team will have to control the game and create numerous chances to leave the pitch as winners this time.
Serbia was under constant pressure against the Netherlands recently, allowing 25 shots and an xG value of 2.74. In Germany, the pressure on the Serbian defence is likely to increase again.
I see the best chance for the guests in quick counterattacks and set pieces. Striker Luka Jovic in particular could cause big problems for the German defence with his pronounced nose for goal.
Jovic scored the only goal for his team against the Netherlands and had six shots on goal from the penalty area in just one half. He is definitely the player the German defense needs to keep an eye on.

The duel against Greece was supposed to show the progress under Jürgen Klopp, but the 1-0 defeat mercilessly exposed the current problems and the lack of coordination in the DFB team.
However, the national coach himself remains emphatically calm and explained that such setbacks are part of the process to shape Germany into an absolute top team again in the long term.
The fact is, however, that Germany has now been waiting for a win for four competitive games. However, the underlying statistics also show some positive approaches in the game going forward.
In the defeat against Greece, the team earned an expected goals value of 1.27 and had 16 shots on goal, while the opponent only had half of these shots.
Joshua Kimmich also defended the new approach, stressing that it offers a stronger basis for future success than the system under his predecessor Julian Nagelsmann.
It will probably take some time before we see the best Germany. However, the upcoming duel against Serbia promises a clear mandatory victory, which should ideally be dominant.
Serbia Form Check
Serbia coach Veljko Paunovic continues to experiment with different line-ups and tactical formations, which is clearly reflected in the recent mixed results.
The offense of the “Eagles” is quite capable of scoring goals consistently. However, the defense proves to be too unstable to make the games successful in the end and score points.
Serbia was able to score against both Greece and the Netherlands, but in the end had to admit defeat in both games due to glaring defensive weaknesses.
The defeat against Greece was particularly bitter, as they gave away a flattering 1-0 lead in the last 20 minutes of the game and lost 2-1 due to two late goals.
Against the Netherlands, they were the clear outsiders from the start. Despite the follow-up goal, the defensive problems allowed the opponent a high expected goals value of 2.74.
It is conceivable that Paunovic will move away from his defensive 5-4-1 formation and rely on a more offensive 4-4-2, in the hope of being able to better compensate for the defensive weaknesses with his own goals.
