Gladbach – Hoffenheim Tip Bundesliga, Matchday 6 on Sunday, 18.10.2026 at 17:30 CET
The ball is rolling again in the Bundesliga and on matchday 6 there is an explosive Gladbach Hoffenheim tip. Both teams are deep in the basement of the table and urgently need points in order not to lose touch. A real six-point game!
I’ll settle on the bet Double Chance X2 & Both to score. Oddset offers you a strong odd of 1.85 in addition to its Oddset Freebet. Gladbach’s defense is the shooting gallery of the league with 18 goals conceded, which makes this bet very attractive for me.
In addition, Hoffenheim scores consistently, even twice in four of five games. The history of the duels also speaks for goals on both sides. Therefore, I see the greatest value for your bets on Sunday in this combination.
After numerous European Cup games, everyday league life is returning. All eyes will be on Borussia-Park, where the penultimate team will host the last team at 17:30 CET on Sunday. A duel that will be trend-setting for both.
The betting markets see the guests from Sinsheim as having a slight advantage, which is surprising at first glance. After all, Hoffenheim have already conceded 13 goals themselves, which is a historically bad figure for TSG at this point in the season.
So can you really trust the Hoffenheim defence? The question is justified. But Gladbach’s disastrous start with zero points makes TSG the favourites in this basement duel despite their own problems.
Gladbach – Hoffenheim Prediction & Betting Tips
Another interesting option for me at odds of 1.53 is the bet Both To Score & Over 2.5 Goals. This tip worked out in all five of TSG’s games this season. Gladbach also score an average of five goals per game, which makes this bet seem logical.
For a Gladbach Hoffenheim prediction, a draw is also worth considering. Both teams are unsettled and could be satisfied with a point to stop the negative series. The rate for this is temptingly high.
If you like it riskier, you can look at the Asian Handicap Line for overscores. With over 5.0 goals, bet365 offers a high odd of 4.80. In view of the holey defensive lines and the goal-rich history, this is a bet for real value bet hunters.
What you need to know about Gladbach vs. Hoffenheim betting
- Gladbach is known for its gruff style of play and has conceded the most fouls (76) as well as the most yellow cards (14) and red cards (1) in the league.
- Hoffenheim shows a massive presence in the opponent’s penalty area. Only Bayern have had more touches of the ball in the box than TSG (202).
- TSG striker Tim Lemperle shone with a goal and an assist in the last meeting against Gladbach.
- The tip “Over 2.5 goals & both teams to score” would have been successful in all five of Hoffenheim’s games so far this season.
Gladbach – Hoffenheim: AI Tip & Odds Analysis
My AI tool sees Hoffenheim slightly ahead with a 40.3% probability of winning, while Gladbach comes in at 36.8%. This assessment coincides with my analysis that the guests should have the better cards here, even if only barely.
The tool’s goal prediction is exciting: it expects almost four goals in the entire game (3.99). Interestingly, Gladbach is even more dangerous with 2.25 expected goals than TSG with 1.74 goals.
One bet supported by this data is 1st half: both to score. In both Gladbach home games, the score was 1-1 early on. The AI forecast for many goals thus justifiably suggests that it could get down to business from the start this time as well.
Predicted chance of winning:
| Victory Gladbach |
Draw |
Victory Hoffenheim |
| 36.8% |
22.9% |
40.3% |
The bet on Over 4.0 goals in the Asian Handicap also makes sense if you follow the forecast of the AI tool. If you score exactly four goals, you will get your stake back, which minimizes the risk somewhat with this offensively oriented bet.
When it comes to player bets, I have Tim Kleindienst on my list. His use is questionable, but if he plays, he is Gladbach’s most dangerous man. A bet on a goal from him could be worthwhile if he is fit.
Also worth considering is the option: Gladbach scores in both halves. The TSG defence is extremely vulnerable and the Foals have proven at home that they can score goals. That could pay off over 90 minutes.
The best odds for Gladbach vs. Hoffenheim
In the Gladbach Hoffenheim odds, the guests from the Kraichgau are the slight favourites. This is remarkable for an away game and underlines the dramatic situation of Borussia, which is still without a single point.
Nevertheless, a home win for the Foals is not out of the question. Their offense has scored three goals in both home games. If the defence finds just a spark of stability, three points at Borussia-Park are absolutely possible.
A draw would probably be a partial success for both teams. It would end the losing streak and bring at least one point to the account. The odds for a draw are high and reflect the uncertainty of both teams.
The Gladbach Hoffenheim betting odds rightly favour TSG. Sinsheim’s offense delivers consistently, while Gladbach’s defense is the worst in the league. The facts therefore clearly speak for a point for the guests.
Gladbach vs Hoffenheim Match Analysis:
Gladbach’s problem is not the offensive. With seven goals from five games, they are on target. However, the defence is a disaster: 18 goals conceded and not a single game without conceding a goal speak for themselves.
Hoffenheim are second to last with three points. Coach Christian Ilzer is not yet up for debate, but a win on Sunday would significantly alleviate the growing pressure on him and the team. It’s a game of enormous importance.
I expect Hoffenheim to win the game as favourites. However, most of TSG’s strikers are still without a goal away from home. That could play into Gladbach’s hands if they lurk on the counterattack and are defensively stable.
A typical pattern in Gladbach’s home games was the early lead, followed by a slump. Keeping their concentration over 90 minutes seems to be the biggest problem for the Foals at the moment. This must change urgently.
As soon as the first goal is scored, the game should pick up speed. Since both defensive lines are very vulnerable, there will be room for quick counter-attacks. An open exchange of blows is therefore very likely.
All data point to a high-scoring game. At least three goals have been scored in all ten games of both teams so far this season. A goalless draw is hardly imaginable; instead, the lead could change several times.
Gladbach form check
Borussia have made their worst start to the season in the league with five defeats from five games. The Foals are the only team still without points and are thus at the bottom of the table.
But there is a glimmer of hope: Of 14 teams that started so badly historically, only five were relegated in the end. The statistical relegation rate is therefore only around 36 percent. The season is still long for the Foals.
Especially away from home, things went catastrophically for Gladbach. In the defeats in Leipzig and Freiburg, they remained goalless. Overall, the disastrous away record is 1:10 goals after only three games away from home.
At home, the offense was much stronger. Gladbach scored three goals each against Elversberg and Mainz, but lost both games 4-3. This shows that the team is quite dangerous in front of their own crowd.
This home advantage could be a decisive factor in the duel against TSG, who are also in crisis. The fans behind them could give the team the necessary boost to finally score the first points of the season.
There are some personnel concerns at Borussia. The use of striker Tim Kleindienst is still questionable. Ko Itakura will definitely be out, which further weakens the defence. At least Kühn is back in training.
Hoffenheim form check
Hoffenheim are also stuck deep in the bottom of the table after a false start. With just three points from five games, TSG are in second to last place. During the week, there was also a 3-2 defeat in the Europa League.
Nevertheless, the team was often close to a better result. Three of the four Bundesliga defeats ended narrowly with only a one-goal difference. TSG are by no means without a chance, but often act unluckily.
The offense is Hoffenheim’s showpiece. TSG have scored at least once in all five league games, and twice in four of them. Nine goals this season is a strong value for a team in the basement of the table.
The big problem is the defence. In four of five games, Hoffenheim have conceded three goals, a total of 13. The only win of the season in the 2-1 win against Stuttgart was the exception to this defensive vulnerability.
However, this victory against VfB showed that the team has the potential to win close games. If they succeed in stabilising the defence, the way out of the crisis is not far for TSG.
In terms of personnel, coach Ilzer has to do without the suspended Bernardo. In addition, defender Albian Hajdari is missing due to injury. This could lead to changes in the defense and further increase the vulnerability of the team.
