Just four days separate the teams in this prestigious Serie A clash, with the second legs coming up soon after the first.

The game had previously been postponed for several weeks from the originally scheduled day after Edoardo Bove’s dramatic collapse on the field – an extraordinary situation that does not make it any easier to relive such a traumatic encounter.
The fact is, for the first time this season, they are now three points behind SSC Napoli, taking into account the number of games played.
However, the “Nerazzurri” have no reason to throw in the towel. The season is still long, and even if Napoli, which has been spared from the schedule, is not challenged in the Coppa Italia or in the Champions League knockout phase, anything can happen in football.
Given the current form of the Neapolitans, however, the Lombards can no longer afford to lose any more points.

It is doubtful that such a defeat will be repeated, however, because in their last nine home games against the Tuscan team, the home side have only suffered a single defeat (6 wins, 2 draws).
Things couldn’t be going much better for the visitors at the moment: the clear win against the favorites was already Fiorentina’s third consecutive Serie A win – the perfect response to a previous six-game losing streak (2 draws, 4 defeats).
Without this weak phase, “La Viola” would probably be safely in the top 4, but instead, the fight for the Champions League places is closer than ever.
At the moment, only their goal difference is keeping them out of the coveted places, but the form curve is clearly pointing upwards!
But now, of all times, they face a team coached by Simone Inzaghi – and that has rarely been a pleasant prospect for the Florentines in the past.
Their most recent success was only their third from the previous 17 meetings with a team coached by the wily Simone Inzaghi (3 draws, 11 defeats).
These statistics do not bode well, nor does the poor record in away Monday games! Only two of the last 14 Serie A away games on a Monday were won by the “Viola” (5 draws, 7 defeats).

The bare numbers speak for themselves in this regard anyway: betting on goals is almost always worthwhile when Internazionale are playing.
After all, the Nerazzurri’s Serie A matches have the highest average of goals per game in the league before this match day, at 3.39.
Even more impressive: in the last four home games, the Lombards have always scored at least three goals. This suggests another promising betting tip – “Over 2.5 goals” at around 1.70, with no odds boost.
Conclusion: Inter were caught out a few days ago, but now they cannot afford another setback.
Against a surprisingly strong Fiorentina and in front of their home crowd, however, this will be anything but a sure thing.
My faith in the Nerazzurri is not boundless, which is why I prefer to focus on the number of goals rather than on a potential home win.
