Malta – Netherlands Tip World Cup Qualifiers, Group G, Matchday 7, 09.10.2025 at 20:45
On the 7th match day of the World Cup qualifiers, the Netherlands and Malta will face each other in an uneven duel in Group G. One team is at the top of the table and on its way to the final round. The other is Malta – and at the bottom of the table.
In my Malta Netherlands prediction, I’m not going to beat around the bush. I expect a clear victory for the favorites. I think the bet “Oranje to win with HC -2” at odds of 1.52 is quite good at Oddset.
If Malta proves to be as overwhelmed as in the first leg (0-8), it could be another very bitter World Cup qualifying evening for the underdogs. The bookie is offering 3.40 for a Dutch handicap win -3.
Malta vs. Netherlands AI predictions:
Our AI model actually really likes classic “David vs. Goliath” matches. After all, this is where most value bets can be found. However, the Malta Netherlands AI prediction also clearly favors the Dutch.
In view of the landslide victory in the first leg, the digital brain initially puts forward the bet “Netherlands over 3.5 goals.” The odds at betting provider Interwetten are around 2.05 and can easily be played with medium risk.
Predicted chance of winning:
| Malta win |
Draw |
Netherlands win |
| 2.34% |
7.99% |
89.67% |
The AI also has a classic safety-first tip up its sleeve. “Netherlands to win without conceding a goal” only manages odds of around 1.45 on Betano Mobile. But when you consider that Malta has only scored one goal in the entire qualifying campaign so far, there’s really nothing to complain about.
I also find the AI’s third selection very interesting. “The Netherlands wins both halves” is certainly not a crazy idea given the clear starting position. I find it quite surprising that the odds are around 1.60.
What you need to consider when betting on Malta vs. the Netherlands
- Malta has played the Netherlands seven times so far, losing all seven games.
- In fact, Malta has never scored a goal against the Oranje. The current goal difference is 0:36.
- At least Malta recently won a friendly against San Marino 3-1.
- The Netherlands have scored at least twice in five of their last six games.
