For my Manchester City PSG tip, I look at the top game of the Champions League. On the second matchday of the league phase, a duel of the giants awaits us, which could be decisive for your bets.
My main bet is: Both to score & over 2.5 goals. PSG have conceded goals in eight of nine competitive games, while City’s attack seems simply unstoppable at the moment.

Dembélé leads the statistics for most shots in the Champions League and his expected goal value (xG) is the second highest in the competition. In addition, he already scored in the last duel against the Citizens and was rested recently.

The Citizens mastered the start of the Champions League with a 2-0 away win at FC Porto. Most recently, there was a clear 3-0 win in the Premier League at Liverpool FC at Anfield.
Star striker Erling Haaland is still in top form. The Norwegian has already scored eight times in eight competitive games for his club this season and is the central figure in the Skyblues’ attack.
Tactically, coach Enzo Maresca relies on total control in midfield. Through invading full-backs, he creates a superiority in the centre and usually nip opposing counterattacks in the bud.
A win at the Etihad Stadium at home would not only be revenge for the 4-2 defeat in Paris at the beginning of 2025, but would also take City a big step towards direct qualification for the knockout rounds.

After a mixed start to the season, Luis Enrique’s team has caught up and recently celebrated four wins in a row. The most recent success was a 3-1 win in Ligue 1 against Le Mans, in which the offense was convincing.
However, the defense remains the Achilles’ heel. In eight of nine competitive games, PSG had to concede at least one goal. This is a statistic that should play into the hands of City’s strong attack.
PSG’s playing system is a fluid 4-3-3 that is designed for possession, high counter-pressing and dominance in the centre. Ball possession rates of over 60% are not uncommon for the team.
