It has been clear for days that Turkey wants to part ways with coach Vincenzo Montella and is hardly surprising after four defeats from four Nations League games. However, the official announcement has been a long time coming, which is also said to be related to a multi-million dollar severance payment for the 52-year-old Italian, who has been in office since September 2023 and still has a contract until 2028. As “Hürriyet” now reports, Montella is now said to be willing to waive severance pay. The separation could then be decided at a summit meeting of the Turkish association on Friday.
