A great start, a capital crash – not easy times for fans of Udinese Calcio! In the Serie A, the little zebras have to quickly find their way back to form, with a trip to the penultimate on Monday.
So two teams that have forgotten how to win meet. It is therefore no wonder that the odds are very close and there is virtually no favorite. My Monza Udinese prediction is therefore: There will be a point on both sides and a maximum of four goals!
With three wins and a draw, Udinese Calcio had started the 2024/25 season, and could be satisfied all round. In mid-September, no one could have guessed that things would soon go downhill very quickly.
Two more wins were added from the last ten rounds, but unfortunately seven defeats were also suffered. Udinese have completely lost their way, losing four of the last five games alone.
And not just because all their opponents were really strong. The defeats against Juventus Turin (0:2) and Atalanta Bergamo (1:2) are perhaps still justifiable, but those against Venezia (2:3) and Genoa (0:2) were painful.
In four of the last five meetings, there was only one point, but at least two goals were conceded. Is there a significant difference between playing at home or away?

Three of the four wins were scored in their own stadium, it’s a shame that Udinese have to travel on Monday. They have only collected one point from their last five away games, which they got in the 1-1 draw against Empoli.
They have not yet kept a clean sheet away from home, which does not reflect well on their defense. Of course, the crisis has become known, but no one in Udine really knows how it could have happened.
The team sometimes gives away a lead, then comes back from a deficit. What I found out about the history between Udinese and Monza is very interesting.
Between 1989 and 2022, they always avoided each other, but now they are finally dueling again. After both recorded narrow victories, there was no winner in the last three games.
0:0, 1:1, 2:2, which draw can it be this time? I already mentioned at the beginning that our bookmakers with Apple Pay function cannot agree on who will be ahead on Monday.
2.80 to 2.70 – the guests have the slight disadvantage on their side. But since they are playing away, their chances of winning are by no means lower than those of the hosts. Of course, if only because Monza are bottom of the league.
One win, seven draws and six defeats puts the club second to last. Four 1-1s, two 2-2s and one goalless draw – when points are shared, it can happen in different ways.
The main problem for Monza is scoring goals. They have scored two goals in their last five games, and 12 goals in total – the third-worst record in the league.
But Monza is actually not bad at defending. They have conceded 17 goals, with Atalanta, currently in second place, having conceded only one less.
Monza is the only team, along with CFC Genoa, that has not yet won at home. There have been three draws and four defeats, with 5:9 goals giving an average of exactly two goals per game.
0:1 against Genoa, 1:1 against Inter Milan, 1:2 against Bologna, 1:1 against Roma, 2:2 against Venezia, 0:1 against Milan and 0:1 against Lazio Rom – it doesn’t help Monza that they always play well, no matter who the opponent is.
The first goal of the game has only been scored once at home. It makes sense that I take a quick look at Interwetten to see that a 1-0 victory for Udinese on Monday would have odds of 2.15.
In form? Monza is no more than Udinese! The guests have completely crashed, collecting one defeat after the other and no longer getting going away from home.
The hosts are focusing on the draw, which has already happened seven times. I was able to determine that Monza is no longer able to score. So who do I assign the role of favorite to?
My answer is relatively simple: neither! It seems to me that neither team is strong enough to get three points at the end. My conclusion is therefore:
