Philipp Mwene will remain with FSV Mainz 05 beyond the end of the season. The 32-year-old Austrian has extended his expiring contract with the Bundesliga club. Mwene, who already played for Mainz from 2018 to 2021, returned to Rheinhessen in 2023 and has since made 78 competitive appearances. In the current season, the full-back has made 21 appearances for the Bundesliga club. The club did not disclose the exact duration of the new contract.
