The PDC World Darts Championship 2024/25 will take place from December 15, 2024 to January 3, 2025.

Who qualifies for the PDC Darts World Championship after the top 32 in the world rankings as of November 27, 2024 will be decided over the course of the year.

PDC Tournaments 2024 – these are the 11 Darts Majors:

The Masters: Since 2013, this has been the first TV tournament after the World Championship every year, in which 24 players (Top 24 Order of Merit) take part. Since 2015, the venue has been the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes. The tournament is played in a knockout system in best of legs mode.

Premier League of Darts: Has existed since 2005 and is not an ordinary tournament, but has consisted of 16 individual tournaments since 2022. Points are awarded at each event. The four best players after these 16 tournaments play for the title in the Final Four. Tournament duration: From February to May.

UK Open: There are no seeding lists for the UK Open (first staged in 2003) – anyone can be drawn against anyone else. It is comparable to the DFB Cup in soccer. A total of 128 players take part, with the top 32 of the PDC Order of Merit qualifying.

World Cup of Darts: The World Cup of Darts was launched in 2010 – it is the only team competition in darts. The two best players from each nation compete for their country in the Order of Merit. The special feature of this tournament is the mix of singles and doubles competitions

World Matchplay: Has been held since 1984 and is one of the PDC’s oldest major tournaments. The venue is the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. World Grand Prix: The World Grand Prix (in existence since 1998) is the only major tournament to be played in the unusual “double-in/double-out” format, which provides extra excitement. 32 players take part, the top 16 of the Order of Merit.

European Darts Championship: The European Championship has existed since 2008 and is the second and largest Major tournament organized by the PDC Europe. The top 32 players on the European Tour play for the European Championship title in the final tournament.

World Series of Darts Finals: The top 4 players on the PDC Order of Merit after the World Championship and four other top players are eligible to take part. At the end of the year, the best players compete for overall victory in the World Series Finals.

Players Championship Finals: This tournament, which has been held since 2009, spans almost 30 match days throughout the year. The best 64 players of the year meet in the final tournament.

Darts World Championship: The crowning finale of the year or the cracking start – depending on how you want to look at it, as the Darts World Championship (officially: PDC Darts World Championship) always begins in mid-December and ends on the first days of January. The tournament, which was held for the first time in 1994, is by far the most prestigious tournament of the PDC.
