Portugal – Czech Republic betting tip, prediction & odds Euro 18.06.2024

Portugal Czech Republic betting tip & the best odds for the 1st match of Group F

I firmly believe that Portugal can win this Euro 2024. The arsenal of players that the proud seafaring nation has at its disposal is one of the best at this tournament

According to my Portugal Czech Republic betting tip, the Portuguese should face little resistance on Tuesday on their way to the first of three possible victories in this Group F.

I will show you in a moment which European Championship bets are more suitable and which Portugal Czech Republic odds are less suitable. Of course, I will also include a reference to the bookmakers’ best free bets for the European Championship

Portugal is a soccer powerhouse that stands out for its remarkable consistency. Don’t be fooled by those who say otherwise.

For POR are the only team to have reached the knockout rounds of the last seven editions of UEFA EURO, a streak that stretches back to the 1996 tournament.

In fact, Portugal have always progressed from the group stage in all previous European Championships (8 out of 8 times).

Consequently, I reiterate the assertion made at the very beginning of my Portugal Czech Republic prediction: the “Selecao” will not encounter any turbulence next Tuesday.

The Portugal – Czech Republic prediction from the bookmakers

You are of course free to choose which side of the Portugal Czech Republic odds you want to take. You can select both the Czech Republic odds and the Portugal odds at all bookmakers.

However, the latter have been set at a significantly lower level of around 1.53 by almost all European Championship betting providers – and rightly so!

In fact, the prevailing balance of power between the two opponents leaves no other conclusion than to assign the clear favorite role to the Iberians.

Analysis: Portugal vs Czech Republic

This will be the fourth meeting between Portugal and the Czech Republic at the EURO since 1996 – only Italy and Spain have played each other more often in this period (5 times, with a 6th meeting at EURO 2024).

The Czech Republic won the first meeting in 1996 (1-0), while Portugal won the last two matches (3-1 in 2008, 1-0 in 2012).

But what makes me even more optimistic that POR will win this opening game is the overall dream condition Roberto Martinez’s team is in at the moment

In recent weeks, I’ve heard a number of tacticians on the net talking shop about how the high-quality “Selecao” would perform even better without Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting eleven.

This is testament to the many first-class alternatives that the Iberians now have at their disposal in attack. But in the last test match against Ireland, CR7 showed why he could once again become the star of the tournament despite his advanced age.

The exceptional player scored a brace in the 3-0 win against Ireland, scoring an absolute dream goal in the process: he pulled the ball inside briefly and then flicked it into the far corner with a lot of feeling.

However, you shouldn’t expect Ronaldo to play more than a half despite his peak form. The good man is now approaching 40.

My Portugal Czech Republic tip for you: Place a goal bet on CR7 to score the first goal of the game – if he is in the starting eleven – as he is likely to be substituted early in the later stages of the match

Czech Republic will be taking part in their 11th UEFA European Championship, including their time as Czechoslovakia.

Good luck to CZE on Tuesday! What they cannot make up for in individual class, they will have to make up for in the match against the Portuguese with an extremely high degree of team unity.

Apart from a few exceptions, the team largely resembles a Prague city team with a less illustrious reputation, consisting of the two capital city clubs Slavia and Sparta

Quota analysis

I recommend you choose from any offers that come from verified bookmakers and aim for Portugal to win with scores ranging from a 2-0 to a 3-0 to a not-to-be-ruled-out 4-0.

However, I would avoid an over 2.5 goals bet at odds of around 1.80, as all goals on Tuesday should only be scored by the Iberians.

Consequently, you are spoilt for choice between an HC bet of the type “POR wins with HC -1” and “POR wins with HC -2”, which are traded by most sports betting providers at Portugal odds of 2.45 and 4.70 respectively.

Portugal vs. Czech Republic odds: CR7 loves the big stage

Since 1972, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored/assisted twice as many goals/assists as any other player at European Championships: 20 in total (14 goals, 6 assists).

So it’s clear why I entrust CR7 on my betting slip with the task of helping me to a nice payout by scoring 1:0.

He is simply the best choice! Ronaldo also holds the record for the most matches (25), the most goals (14), the joint most assists since 1972 (6) and the most tournaments with at least one goal (5) at the UEFA EURO.

The Portuguese international is also the European player with the most appearances at major tournaments (World Cup and European Championship).

Portugal were outstanding in the qualifiers

Possibly there is no alternative to a Portugal-Czech Republic bet that foresees a win for the Iberians, because a draw is out of the question as a potential final result anyway.

Only two of the Eastern Europeans’ last 24 games in European Championship matches have ended in a stalemate after 90 minutes, both against Croatia (2-2 in the 2016 group stage, 1-1 in the 2020 group stage).

Don’t get me wrong: the Czech Republic will get their chance to collect points to escape Group F.

But that’s more likely to happen when the Czechs face Turkey and Georgia, who, unlike the Portuguese, don’t have an outstanding world-class player in every position.

In addition, the “100% Portuguese” are simply too strong for me. To prove this, I refer you to the road paved with victories that led them to Germany.

Watch out: Portugal were the only team to win all their games in EURO 2024 qualifying (10 out of 10).

They also scored more goals than any other team (36) and had the best defense (2 goals conceded in 10 games).

My Portugal Czech Republic tip:

In my opinion, Portugal continue to be underestimated by experts and bookmakers. The Czech Republic will see what the Iberians are actually capable of on Tuesday. The Eastern Europeans can’t keep up with the quality of their opponents anyway.

I highly doubt that a defense consisting almost exclusively of players from the Czech 1st division will be able to keep this outstanding offense in check for 90 minutes.

My tip: Cristiano Ronaldo scores the first goal
