While quite a few teams are still fighting to somehow make it into the top eight, Liverpool is thinking: have fun everyone, we’re taking a relaxed approach to this last matchday of the group stage! The Reds are sending their regards from the top, having long since secured their place in the next round.
There’s no question about it: since we started our Champions League tips a few months ago, the English have impressed us in many ways.
They always know exactly what needs to be done to win. Will that be the case on Wednesday too? In my PSV Eindhoven Liverpool tip, I’ll tell you exactly that.
I dare to make the prediction: the guests can take it a little easier, a draw is definitely enough to get first place, even a defeat. For the hosts, however, the play-offs are almost certain, a point would finally ensure relaxation.

The AI spits out a high-risk tip: Eindhoven to win with a HC of -1. Phew, a very bold prediction! I can imagine a victory if the Reds run it out, but a clear one? I’m not so sure given the quality of the guests.
The medium risk is for more than 3.5 goals. Liverpool can turn on the offense, but they only managed a maximum of two goals in five CL games. Since only three have been conceded on the other side, I wouldn’t necessarily go for a spectacle here.
My approval goes to the betting proposal “Both teams score”. Yes, Liverpool are very secure at the back, but now the result is no longer quite so important. Eindhoven have only gone once without scoring, so the chances for the BTS are really quite good.

Their own offensive efforts? But they often only really get going in the second half. Only against Milan did they score an early double, three times it was one goal, three times it was none at all.

Liverpool scored four times before the break, nine times after? A significant difference! Added to that, the hosts collected four clean sheets before half-time. In view of this, the “0-0 at half-time” bet could be a good idea, with Winamax offering odds of 3.85.

We shouldn’t expect the Reds to put on a spectacular show, but the really high-scoring games sometimes take place in the Premier League. The Champions League is currently the competition in which they are simply delivering a solid performance.
The team can also play away games. Twelve of their last 15 Champions League away games have ended in victory, and I simply can’t find anything to criticize at the moment.

Eindhoven is focusing on their home strength
Six in all, but all of them between 2006 and 2008. Five wins and a draw, two goals conceded – the statistics look great on their own. But with players like Ryan Babel and Xabi Alonso still involved in the most recent game, the results are no longer meaningful.
PSV Eindhoven are, of course, aware of the fact that they have never beaten Liverpool. The Dutch team currently has eleven points, two teams have eight.
This is important because, theoretically, you could still drop out of the play-off ranks, but overall that is very unrealistic. PSV didn’t actually start the competition very successfully.
They lost 1-3 to Juventus and drew 1-1 with Sporting Lisbon and PSG. Admittedly, these were not the easiest opponents, which is why the results were quickly put into perspective. The offensive knot then burst during the 4-0 win against Girona.
This was followed by a 3-2 win against Donetsk, and the somewhat surprising 0-1 defeat against Brest was counteracted by a 3-2 win against Red Star Belgrade. Do the results match up, both offensively and defensively?
The fact is, the first halves are anything but boring. There were twelve goals, with the team in front four times but also behind three times. There were 23 goals in total, so the scoring was more than fair.
Against Donetsk, Eindhoven came from 2-0 down to win, while against Belgrade they went from a seemingly comfortable 3-0 to a shaky 3-2. Twice, not insignificantly, PSV scored in injury time.
With two wins and a draw, the fans will surely be very satisfied with the domestic statistics. They have not lost in eleven home games in the European Cup, which is of course very strong.
In the league, the team has just recovered from a minor crisis, because winning one out of four games does not meet their own expectations. But: they have never lost in their own stadium in the domestic competition either!
