La Liga, Sunday, 01.12.2024 at 16:15
Man wobbling in Europe – we haven’t been used to that for years! Real Madrid are increasingly back on track in our La Liga championship betting, but have to cope with the fact that things are no longer going their way in the Champions League.
The aim on Sunday is to record a must-win at home. It’s against a favorite opponent, but at the same time a club that has hardly conceded any goals.
That’s why I’m going to tell you in my Real Madrid Getafe betting tip why I have an under 2.5 goal target in mind.
The gap is melting! Real Madrid are still four points behind FC Barcelona, but with a catch-up game still to play, the defending champions can live with their current position.
Thanks to two slip-ups by their rivals, the Whites have fought their way back into contention. So far so good, but what’s going on with international Real? We know the white ballet as a team that really gets going in the Champions League!
Last Wednesday they lost 2-0 to Liverpool, their second defeat in a row and their third in the current competition. Only Stuttgart (3:1) and Dortmund (5:2) were won, and in some cases with a lot of luck and late goals.
No, this Real Madrid is anything but infallible. With eight wins from their last ten league games and one defeat, albeit a 4-0 loss to Barca, they are absolutely on target in La Liga.
Five of the aforementioned victories were won without conceding a goal, and with eleven goals conceded, the team has the second-best defense behind Atletico (eight goals conceded). The Bernabeu is always an advantage for the Madrilenians.
Although they lost 4-0 to Barcelona here, they have won their other six home games. 3-0 against Valladolid, 2-0 against Betis, 4-1 against Espanyol, 3-2 against Alaves, 2-0 against Villarreal and 4-0 against Osasuna – what do these results tell us?
Well, first of all, the Whites always score at least two goals of their own (with the exception of the Clasico) and then, of course, they concede very few goals. In the recent 4-0 win against Osasuna, Vinicius Junior scored three times.
A fact that could highlight the problem that looms on Sunday. Vinicius Junion is injured and will not be available again until mid-December! Unfortunately, he’s not the only star on the injured list:
Aurelien Tchouameni, Rodrygo, Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal are all sidelined, some of them until the end of the season. So who will score the goals against Getafe? Basically, Real like playing against their upcoming opponents, VERY much in fact.
They have won their last five matches, conceding just one goal, and have lost exactly twice since 2008. Home defeats against Getafe? Just one, and that was in February 2008.
Real have won all of their last 15 home games against Getafe. An incredible statistic, but: 2:1, 1:0, 2:0, 2:0, 1:0, 2:0? There hasn’t been much on offer at the Bernabeu in recent years!
Only two of the last twelve results, regardless of the venue, have featured more than 2.5 goals – and exactly three of those three. So how about a home win to nil, is this bet worthwhile?
At Betway, the odds are 1.95, and you can also secure the Betway deposit bonus here. Speaking of odds, Real is clearly favored with odds of 1.35 to 9.00.
FC Getafe travel to the match in 15th place in the table, although the term “journey” is of course somewhat exaggerated as a capital city club. The club has only won twice, so there is no question that they are the clear underdogs against the Whites.
But beware: Getafe should not be underestimated! This is the team that has made a pact with the draw. They have already shared the points seven times, which is why they have only lost five times
These five defeats should not have been necessary. 0:1 against Girona, Celta Vigo, Barca and Sevilla, plus a 1:2 against Betis. If any team is close, it’s this one!
At Bet365, exactly this result, a 1:0 for Madrid, would have odds of 6.00, and here you can also benefit from a very lucrative bonus. Have all of Getafe’s other results been this close?
Five times 1:1, twice 0:0, twice 2:0 – definitely! With eleven goals conceded, the defense is just as strong as that of the Whites, with only one goal conceded twice. Conversely, ten goals of their own only means they have the worst attack in the league
Don’t underestimate FC Getafe! Although they have only won twice, their many draws, strong defense and scarcity of results show how difficult this club is to play against.
Real Madrid love playing against Getafe and hardly concede any goals. At the same time, however, I have also noticed that this duel has hardly produced any goals for some years now.
The Whites are missing key attacking players, Mbappe is out of form and they suffered another defeat in the Premier League. Taking all these facts together, I have therefore decided on the following tip:
The 2.5 goals will not be surpassed!
