Real Sociedad – Sevilla betting tip, prediction & odds 09.03.2025

La Liga, Sunday, 09.03.2025 at 21:00

So many points have not really come together and yet Sevilla can speak of a solid start to the year. After all, the Andalusians have only lost one league game in 2025, with their only defeat coming against the high-flyers from Barcelona.

I am correspondingly optimistic for the upcoming away game in San Sebastian, the result of which should remain within reason thanks to two well-organized defenses. With fresher legs and no Europa League experience, I see an advantage for the visitors.

Therefore, I have combined the Sevilla goal with under 4.5 goals in the Betway configurator!

Real Sociedad could at least draw a penalty in the Europa League round of 16 first leg against Manchester United. With a 1-1 draw, everything remains open for both teams, who are naturally determined to be involved in the international competition again next season.

I had expected a correspondingly committed performance in my prediction and therefore recommended a goal from both teams and offered 1.86 odds. Now I want to add the next correct betting tip for the Real Sociedad game:

Sociedad has odds of 2.20 to win against Sevilla (3.50). Is the spread okay? Something like that! I was expecting even more even odds. After all, the teams are separated by just one point in the championship.

Sevilla are in a good mood, while the hosts are not really strong at home this season and have lost three of their last five matches: 1:2 against Osasuna, 0:3 against Betis and 0:4 against Barca.

In between the matches, they had the European play-off games against Midtjylland and the cup semi-final first leg against Real Madrid, which ended 0:1. Intense weeks for the team led by captain Mikel Oyarzabal, who scored the most recent goal against Man Utd.

The exhausting games are reflected in the results. Only one clean sheet from the last eight games, an unusually weak statistic for last year’s sixth-placed team. I’m not convinced of a clean sheet against Sevilla either.

For at least one goal from FC’s visitors, we get lucrative odds of 1.50 at Betway, where you can look forward to a fantastic new customer bonus.

For games where I don’t expect the result to escalate, I like to combine an under variant.

With the Sevilla goal and under 4.5 goals, we can maneuver the total odds over the 1.70 mark. Real Sociedad have only scored at least five goals in one of their last 25 matches

Due to their susceptibility to conceding a goal or two, the mega pressure in the previous weeks and the fact that they travel to Manchester next Thursday for the EL second leg, I find the double chance X2 very interesting.

The individual odds of 1.70 are also pretty decent. However, Sevilla are only league mediocrity with their thin squad. In addition, Albert Sambi Lokonga, an important man in the center, is missing. Therefore, this bet is a bit too tricky for me.

I find the option at Betano to mix the “Over 0.5” and “Under 2.5 Sevilla” goal odds even better, i.e. to build a bet with which you bet on 1-2 Sevilla goals. You’ll also get an even 1.70.

How big the fresh advantage for the visitors will be at the weekend remains to be seen. But the numbers alone are huge. Real Sociedad have had to play two games every week since the start of the year. In addition to the EL games, there was also the Copa del Rey.

Sevilla, meanwhile, were knocked out of the Spanish Cup in January, meaning they have played eight fewer games in 2025 – what a difference! After a resounding 4-0 win over a relegated Real Valladolid, their most recent matches were 1-1 draws against Mallorca and Rayo Vallecano

In the first leg, San Sebastian won 2-0 in controlled fashion, but Sevilla had enough chances to put at least one ball over the line in that game.

Real Sociedad won their last home game 2-1. Overall, we have seen at least one goal from each team in four of the last five matches. The corresponding odds are still in the crisp double range!

Conclusion: Sevilla have only lost one game in 2025 and have played significantly fewer games at 9:17. Ultimately, the hosts have the clearly better squad and the home advantage on Sunday, which makes it impossible for me to go for a 1X2 bet.

Instead, I opt for the fresher visitors to score at least once. Since Sevilla have also worked well defensively in recent weeks, only conceding more than one goal against Barca, the result should remain within reason.

Sociedad have only kept a clean sheet in one of their last eight matches, but have never conceded more than two goals at home.

My Real Sociedad Sevilla tip: Sevilla scores & under 4.5 goals
