Brazil Serie A, Sunday, 02.06.2024
While the leagues in Europe have already ended or are in their final stages, others are just getting started! In Brazil, the new season has only been underway for a few weeks, so it’s all the more interesting to see how the top teams are progressing.
In my Sao Paulo Cruzeiro betting tip, I’m now looking at two teams that have both delivered very similar results. And so I can reveal my betting tendency straight away: In a direct duel, it could well be that nobody wins at all!
The whole of Europe is already preparing for the European Championship, which starts on June 14, so there’s hardly any time to follow the leagues outside the continent. Where else is the game being played? Brazil, for example!
But now back to the Brazilian Serie A, which started in mid-April. How many match days have taken place since then? Some teams have three or four games under their belts, while others have five or six.
The table therefore gives us hardly any clue, as the matches are too obscure. FC Sao Paulo didn’t exactly get off to a good start, losing twice in the opening 2-1 draw
A 3-0 win against Atletico improved the mood, followed by a 0-0 draw against Palmeiras, a 3-1 win against FC Vitoria and a 2-1 win against Fluminense. Three wins and a draw – the team can definitely be satisfied with the result from the last four matches.
But how do you categorize them? Sometimes no goals at all, then again three, twice conceding twice, it seems as if the team itself hasn’t quite decided whether it wants to be in the left or the right one
This applies above all to the home games, which could not have been more different. 1:2 against Fortaleza, 0:0 against Palmeiras and 2:1 against Fluminense? No, you really can’t draw any conclusions here.
Is Sao Paulo even a title contender this season? In any case, there are some very interesting names in the squad. Lucas Moura, James Rodriguez, Luiz Gustavo or Rafinha?
FC Bayern fans in particular will be listening up! Against Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte, the first thing that strikes me is that 13 of the last 14 games have not resulted in a draw. Why am I still betting on a draw?
Quite simply because the results have almost all been very, very close and it is therefore quite possible that nobody will go for the lucky punch. 1:0, 0:1, 0:1, 1:1, 1:0, 2:0, 3:2, 0:1, 2:1 – this list could go on and on from the home side’s perspective.
It’s pretty close between the two clubs, and it’s also interesting to note that six of Sao Paulo’s last nine wins have been 1-0. What would the odds be if it happens on Sunday?
At Bet3000 you could secure an average of 5.20, for a result bet the risk here is rather low. Speaking of odds, Sao Paulo is generally ahead anyway – with values of 1.80 to 4.20.
The visitors from Belo Horizonte have not won a league match against Sao Paulo FC since July 2013 when they have had to play away from home. In the current season, however, the results are relatively similar.
They have won three times, lost once and drawn once. 3:2, 1:1, 0:3, 3:1 and 1:0? Here, too, no picture emerges. One win, one defeat, one draw? Away from home I can’t say!
Sao Paulo or Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte, who will make a leap in the table? Two teams will meet on Sunday who are both still searching for their line and are therefore difficult to assess.
The hosts haven’t lost a home game against their rivals for over ten years, which is of course very strong. In direct comparisons, however, I have observed that it is always damn close.
A few goals are the order of the day here, often just one. Ultimately, I couldn’t bring myself to pick a favorite. That means for my betting tip:
Sao Paulo and Cruzeiro will share the points
