Sion – Lugano Tip Super League, Matchday 37 on Thursday, 14.05.26 at 16:30 CET
I think there is currently no European league in which there is a greater fluctuation at the top than in the Swiss Super League. It’s crazy how the winner’s podium will turn out in 2025/26.
However, not everything has been decided yet, as in my Sion Lugano tip two clubs meet who are still fighting for the lowest podium step and thus for a place in the Conference League.
It will be extremely difficult for the guests to compensate for the yellow suspensions of Mahou and Steffen!
Sion vs. Lugano AI Predictions:
Swiss football fans should be looking forward to the 2026 World Cup, as quite a few see the “Nati” already entering the knockout phase as group winners.
As far as the domestic competition is concerned, I fired up the computer just in time for the 37th matchday and had a Sion Lugano AI forecast calculated with some good betting ideas.
The result is a half-time-full-time bet that seems bold, but has a first-class reward-risk ratio and is also compatible with my own suggestion from the headline.
Sion/Sion at odds of around 3.35 can certainly come true. If the absence of Renato Steffen does indeed leave a gaping gap in the midfield of the guests, the Valaisan, who has been unbeaten at home since November, could pull away early!
Predicted chance of winning:
| Victory Sion |
Draw |
Victory Lugano |
| 45.4% |
26.3% |
28.3% |
Because without several important key players along the central axis, little could happen for the guests on the way forward.
Finally, Double Chance 1X & Under 3.5 goals at odds of around 1.95 would be the “safe option” for the more cautious among you – and how!
In fact, this statistically sound and promising Sion Lugano tip would have been successful in ten of the Valais’ last eleven home games at the Stade de Tourbillon!
What you need to consider when betting on Sion vs. Lugano
- Sion on the upswing: The Valais team is brimming with self-confidence after the recent 2-0 home win against FC Thun. With an almost injury-free squad planning and the strong form of attacking forces such as Ilyas Chouaref and Benjamin Kololli, Sion is considered extremely dangerous in the Tourbillon.
- Lugano after derby frustration: The Ticino team suffered a bitter 2-1 home defeat against St. Gallen last weekend, which was decided by a controversial hand penalty in the closing stages. Goalkeeper Amir Saipi nevertheless showed class when he saved another penalty shortly before the end.
- Statistical balance: The historical record of the last six duels is completely balanced (2 wins, 2 draws each). The last meeting in March 2026 ended with a 2-1 win for Lugano, while Sion dominated the first home game of the season 4-0 in October 2025.
- Defensive stability: Lugano had not conceded a goal in four games in a row before the St. Gallen game. Sion, on the other hand, has one of the most stable defensive lines in the league, which indicates a tactical game.
