Masters Rome 2025 Participants: Seedings & Favorites with betting odds

World number one Jannik Sinner will return to the big tennis stage at the 2025 Rome Masters after his three-month doping ban. And he’ll be doing so at his home tournament!

This also makes Sinner the number 1 seed at the Italian Masters. He is followed by Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz.

Will Sinner be the favorite for the 2025 Rome Masters on his comeback? Or could his lack of match practice be a problem?

While Sinner has only been able to train in recent months, others could have knocked him off the world rankings throne – but neither Alexander Zverev nor Carlos Alcaraz have managed to do so. Neither were consistent enough to displace Sinner from the top of the ATP rankings.

Alcaraz won the clay court classic in Monte Carlo in April and reached the final of the ATP500 tournament in Barcelona, but had to withdraw from the Masters in Madrid due to injury.

Zverev, last year’s winner in Rome, has been struggling with his form recently. He was knocked out early in Acapulco and the three Masters events in Indian Wells, Miami and Monte Carlo. He won the tournament in Munich, but was knocked out quite early at the Madrid Masters.

This is one of the reasons why Sinner is right at the top of the experts’ and bookmakers’ predictions for the Rome Masters. Another reason is that he has now had three months to build up his form, which he would not normally have had without the suspension.

Djokovic, Medvedev & Co.: The other title contenders

However, there are many other names on the list of favorites for the 2025 Rome Masters who have a good chance of winning the title.

Caspar Ruud (NOR), the winner of the Madrid Masters, Jack Draper (GBR/Madrid finalist) and Argentine clay court specialist Francisco Cerundolo (in the Madrid semifinals) could be on the Rome Masters schedule for a very long time.

Then there is Lorenzo Musetti (ITA), currently number 7 in the Rome seedings, who reached the final in Monte Carlo and the semi-finals at the Madrid Masters.

Holger Rune is another winner tip among the Rome Masters favorites. The Dane also feels very comfortable on red clay and can compete for the title at any clay court tournament. He proved this recently with his title win in Barcelona.

  • 1. Jannik Sinner (ITA)
