Ligue 1, Friday, 12/12/2024 at 8:45 PM
The 15th matchday of Ligue 1 will be opened – and from a tabular point of view, the game is not really a cracker! One of the weakest away teams in the competition is going on a journey, so the bet is almost certain for many.
In my Toulouse St. Etienne betting tip, I will now take a detailed look at both teams and, of course, not only at the away weakness of the guests.
Nevertheless, this cannot be denied – and that is why I say: the home team will win by a maximum of four goals!
St. Etienne only returned to the top French division a few months ago and was of course aware that it is only a matter of saying au revoir to the relegation battle as early as possible.
After 14 rounds, it’s clear that they’re not doing so well. They’ve already lost nine times, with eleven goals scored, their offense is the weakest in the league. They’ve only shared points once, so the willingness to take risks is there.
For the first time since the start of the season, the Greens are now facing a triple defeat again, after a 0-5 loss to Rennes and a 0-2 loss to Marseille. Defeats without scoring a goal? That’s nothing new!
Only once, in the 4-2 defeat to Angers, did they score in a game they lost, and in the other eight disasters, there was no joy at all. What is interesting, based on all the results, is that it is rare for both sides to score anyway.
Only three results had a “BTS” to offer, but eleven did not. A glance at Interwetten reveals: “Both teams score” would have odds of 1.95, while the opposite remains at a lower 1.80.
I now come to the point that St. Etienne fans will like the least: their team has to play away on Friday! They really don’t do well away from home, with only one point collected so far.
With 25 goals conceded, the defense regularly breaks down, with at least four goals conceded on four occasions. A negative highlight was certainly the 0-8 defeat in Nice. Own goals? They are a real rarity.
There were two in the 2-2 draw in Nantes and two in the 2-4 defeat to Angers – that’s it. As you might expect, two of the four goals were scored from penalties, so they hardly score at all from open play.
Nevertheless, those looking for encouragement will find it in this direct comparison. Toulouse have not lost to Toulouse in eight games, although half of these duels have ended without a winner.
Our Apple Pay bookmakers are probably ignoring the history completely and focusing instead on the facts of the present. This is the only way to explain why the odds on average are 6.50 to 1.48.
FC Toulouse is clearly favored – the team, currently tenth in the table, doesn’t experience that very often. The fact that they have won four of their last six games suggests that their form is improving.
0-2 to Monaco and 0-3 to PSG, the two defeats in that period, are absolutely justifiable. It is definitely interesting that I can only see goals on both sides in five of the matches at this club too.
I can definitely attest to Toulouse having a certain home strength. Most recently, there were two wins without conceding a goal, four clean sheets have already been collected at home! Would a bet be that St. Etienne will not score on Friday?

0:0, 1:3, 2:0, 1:2, 1:1, 1:0, 2:0? No, fans in Toulouse rarely experience a spectacle. Since their team has only scored 15 goals, the supporters know that it is more likely to come from the defense.
Toulouse FC know the history and know that they have not won against St. Etienne since 2015 – that has to change! If not now, then when, the hosts could go into the game. They know that they are particularly strong at home.
St. Etienne is incredibly weak away from home, generally scores hardly at all and occupies the relegation spot. Speaking of scoring, Toulouse has only scored 15 goals itself, so both teams don’t take that many in terms of offense.
Summing up all the facts I have collected, I realize that an away win is quite unrealistic. And since both clubs are not exactly known for scoring many goals, my tip is:
Toulouse wins with a maximum of four goals!
