Türkiye Kupasi, Final, Wednesday, 14.05.2025 at 19:45
The double is within reach! Galatasaray fans celebrated the best season in the club’s history in 2023/24, and the current season is set to cap that experience.
On Wednesday, the Lions can win the Turkish Cup and are clear favorites going into the match. In my Trabzonspor Galatasaray prediction, I’ll tell you why I agree with the bookmakers’ forecast and say: The favorite will be celebrating after 90 minutes +X!
Preparations for the big party are underway – but now, of course, one title is no longer enough! With three games to go, Galatasaray are eight points ahead of Fenerbahce, so everyone knows that the championship will be defended.
27 wins, five draws, one defeat, 86 points – you can’t defend a title much better than that. Three 2-0 wins, plus a 4-1 and a 5-1, the last victories in the Süper Lig were also clear-cut.
Actually, I can just cut the league routine short and say: Everything is going well, regardless of whether we’re talking about offense or defense, home or away games.
In that respect, I’m now looking forward to Wednesday, because anything can happen in a cup final. As luck would have it, the Lions played Trabzonspor just a few days ago and won 2-0.
The Türkiye Kupasi was initially played in a group stage in 2024/25. 2-2 against Basaksehir, 4-1 against Boluspor and 0-0 against Konyaspor? Gala stuck to its credo: “A good horse only jumps as high as it has to.”
In the quarterfinals, they beat archrivals Fenerbahce 2-1, followed by a 5-1 rout of Konyaspor. Galatasaray fans know that a cup final is by no means a foregone conclusion.
For the first time since 2019, the Turkish record champions are back in the final. They have reached the final seven times since 1999. One advantage for Wednesday could be that all seven of those matches were won with nerves of steel.
Of course, I have to mention Victor Osimhen separately. The striker has scored three times and provided one assist in the last two cup games alone, and he has 24 goals in the Süper Lig.
Accordingly, I have to recommend a goal bet. At Bet365, the tip brings odds of 1.63, which shows that you can always count on Osimhen to score.
I just mentioned that the last match between Galatasaray and Trabzonspor was only a few days ago. The Lions won 2-0, their fifth victory in a row.
2-0, 4-3, 5-1, 2-0 and 2-1 – from an offensive point of view, I can’t fault Gala here. I would therefore recommend betting on “Over 2.5 goals Galatasaray,” which has odds of 2.55.
Those who are a little risk-averse can also bet on “Over 1.5 goals,” which still offers odds of 1.55. Incidentally, this is the first time these two clubs have faced each other in the cup since 2009.
Back then, the record champions won 2-1 in the group stage. The Lions are the favorites in any case, as is quickly apparent from our ApplePay bookmakers. The odds are 1.60 to 5.20 for a win after regular time.
As for the cup win itself, we’re at 1.30 to 3.50. Trabzonspor knows that they are clear underdogs going into this final, which will be played in Gaziantep. It is the team’s second consecutive final, having lost 2-3 to Besiktas in 2024.
Trabzonspor is by no means satisfied with the 2024/25 season. Qualification for Europe is no longer possible via the league, with twelve wins, ten draws, and eleven losses leaving them in eighth place.
Interestingly, the team is performing very poorly away from home – after all, the cup final will not be played in their own stadium. They have managed just TWO wins on the road, scoring 15 goals in 16 games!
How did the team fare in the cup? They won 3-0 against Alanyaspor, drew 2-2 against Iskenderunspor and beat Rizespor 5-2, making it through the preliminary round with ease. In the quarter-finals, they beat Bodrumspor 3-2 after extra time and Göztepe 2-0 in the semi-finals.
One title is virtually certain, but of course the double is the goal. Galatasaray can be crowned twice in the coming days, and after a really strong 2024/25 season, the fans are rightly preparing for a big party.
Unfortunately, Trabzonspor couldn’t keep up in my analysis. Their poor away form and the results of their last direct encounters convinced me that they are unlikely to win the cup.
Since the Lions have won their last seven final appearances, six of them after regular time, I have decided to place a simple win bet and say:
Gala will win the cup without extra time!
