Serie A, Sunday, 11.05.2025 at 18:00
“This game is a battle painting!” – That was the euphoric comment from the Amazon Prime spokesperson last Tuesday, and indeed, what Inter delivered was bordering on soccer history.
A breathless spectacle in which every pass, every duel and every shot looked like a brushstroke on the canvas – wild, brilliant and unforgettable. Was it the best game of all time? Hard to say. But it was definitely one that will stay with us for a long time.
According to my Turin FC Inter Milan betting tip, it doesn’t necessarily have to be followed by a setback in Serie A. Although it will be difficult for Inzaghi’s side to maintain the tension, their opponents have already indirectly switched into off-season mode
Anyone who watched the epic 4:3 against Barca on Tuesday will probably still get goosebumps today just thinking about it. What Inter delivered wasn’t just soccer – it was pure emotion, pure energy, pure Champions League.
But that’s exactly the problem now: after such a high, how do you switch down to the grey Serie A routine against FC Torino, who have been somewhere between a latte macchiato and a beach vacation for weeks?
The starting position is tricky: Inter still have a mini chance of winning the double, but have to hope that Napoli slip up – and continue to clean up in the league themselves. The opponents? First Turin, then Lazio and finally Como.
Not a walk in the park, but doable – if the tank is full. And therein lies the rub: after 120 minutes of high-pressure soccer against Barca, one or two of the Nerazzurri players will probably be crying out for a hot tub rather than a restart.
And anyone who saw the 1:0 against Hellas a week ago knows: Inzaghi rotates when he has to – and he will probably have to again.
Now Torino FC come into the game – and let’s be honest: the air is out. The final punch is missing, the 1:1 against Venice was emblematic of their current state. Nothing more is at stake, except perhaps a bit of damage limitation at the end of the season.
And if there’s one thing Torino have been known for in recent weeks, it’s not scoring many goals. 8 of their last 9 games have been below the 2.5-goal mark – an impressive figure, especially when you consider that here comes an Inter side that could be tired, perhaps even with half a B-team.
So what to do? To me, the whole thing smells like a tough affair.
It wouldn’t be surprising if the game gets bogged down in midfield, Inter slowly try to get into it, Torino don’t really have anything against it – and after 45 minutes there’s still no ball in the net.
The odds for a 0:0 at the break are around 2.55 in the handy Bwin app and look very inviting.
But: If Inter do get serious at some point, the game can quickly tip in their favor. The Nerazzurri have won all of their last five Serie A duels against Torino, four of them without conceding a goal.
And anyone who, like them, has just beaten Barca by the skin of their teeth will also be able to cope with an opponent like Torino at some point – even if it’s a shorthanded team.
Another 1:0 à la Verona? Quite possible. “Inter win to nil” is available for around 2.33 – also an exciting pick, especially for combination bets.
And if you want to play it safe: The under 2.5 goals bet seems almost conservative here.
Because even if Inter pull the game out at some point, you can hardly expect the kind of attacking fireworks they produced against Barca – not after such a feat of strength, not against such a toothless opponent, and certainly not with the Champions League final in sight.
The first-round duel deviated from the usual “Inter-Turin pattern” in that it produced 5 goals. In the end, Internazionale prevailed 3:2 on goals.
Meanwhile, I’m deliberately leaving out the addition – “Inter win” – in my Turin FC Inter Milan betting tip on Saturday, because I’m expecting fewer than three goals, but not necessarily a win for the visitors.
Because apart from the fact that Inzaghi will probably send something between an A and a B team onto the pitch, the “Toro” are not an opponent that can be taken on so easily – especially not at home.
Watch out: Of Turin’s last 9 Serie A home games, none have gone to the visiting team, which is quite a statement (4 wins, 5 draws).
Conclusion: 0-0 at half-time (odds approx. 2.55) as the main idea, Inter to win to nil (odds approx. 2.33) as a second option – and for the cautious among you: “Under 2.5 goals” as a solid hedge with odds of around 1.70.
These are the betting offers that I would recommend off the cuff with a betting provider with PayPal.
I can imagine a win for the “Nerazzurri”, but also a tired 0:0 or 1:1. I would therefore prefer to stay away from a classic 1X2 bet on this Serie A weekend. Better safe than sorry:
My tip: Under 2.5 goals
