Serie A, Sunday, 12/01/2025 at 3:00 PM
Is someone getting ready to take the lead in the table shortly? The defending champion is back in the thick of the Serie A betting action, with everything in their own hands thanks to two catch-up games.
On Sunday, the Nerazzurri travel to a newly promoted team, where they are the clear favorites. In my Venezia Inter Milan betting tip, I would therefore like to tell you why I am dampening the euphoria of an exciting game a little and saying: three goals is the end!
We have three teams that are very close together. Three teams, and at this point in January, we don’t yet know which of them will be able to hold their own until the end. Three teams, including Inter Milan.
The reigning champions may be four points behind Napoli, but since they have also played two games fewer, they are still on track – which is hardly surprising after five wins in a row!
5:0 against Hellas Verona, 3:1 against Parma Calcio, 6:0 against Lazio Rom, 2:0 against Como and 3:0 against Cagliari Calcio, the victories were even quite clear. In addition, there was a 2:0 in the semi-final of the Coppa against Atalanta Bergamo.
And now the surprise: in this competition, Inter made a real mess of things a few days ago! Last Monday, the team was leading 2-0 and just wanted to coast to victory. But in the end, they actually managed to lose 2-3.

Memories of the early stages of this season are coming back, when the black and blues had conceded at least two goals five times in the first nine rounds.
Actually, the defense had stabilized afterwards, with only two goals conceded in the last eight games – and in the Coppa against Atalanta, the zero was also there.
The collapse against Milan was strange. Admittedly, the Super Cup may be of less sporting importance than the Serie A, but a defeat in the derby can keep a team busy for a while.
How much did the personnel situation affect this defeat? With Marcus Thuram, namely, the most dangerous man was missing, and now, unfortunately, Hakan Calhanoglu and Joaquin Correa have also been caught out!
Definitely good news, because in the first half of the season, Venezia proved to be a tough nut to crack. Admittedly, in terms of pure quality, Inter are of course streets ahead of their opponents, but it was enough for a narrow 1-0 win in November.
Since Venezia have not been in Serie A for a long time, the only notable fixtures in their history are from the 2021/22 season. 2:1 and 2:0? Here, too, the favorites had to work hard before the win was secured!
In both of these games, the second goal was not scored until minute 90. Nevertheless, our bookmakers are clear: there can only be one winner on Sunday. They see the guests in front with average odds of 1.30 to 10.0.
Venezia has lost 11 of its 19 games. However, I would like to give the fans some optimism to take with them, because as soon as November was over (they only lost), the results got better.
Three draws, one win and just one defeat – that’s not bad for a team in the relegation zone. The only defeat was against league leaders Napoli, and a 1-0 loss is always going to be on the cards.
The fact that the three wins this season have all been at home is also encouraging. They haven’t lost in their last three home games, and the home defeats they have suffered could have been avoided.
0:1 against Lecce, 1:2 against Parma, 0:1 against Torino and 0:2 against Atalanta, the team did not perform that badly here. Only in a 2-0 win against Genoa in September, it should also be mentioned, did Venezia manage to keep a clean sheet at home.
Incidentally, Venezia were only twice behind after the first 45 minutes. So this could be a good bet for you after registering with Oddset, because if the “double chance 1X” is correct after half-time, the odds here climb to 2.00.
How much is Inter Milan really hurting from the Coppa defeat against Milan? The Nerazzurri gave away a 2-0 lead and were completely out of sorts defensively. And that despite actually doing really well in Serie A, at least before the break.
Now the team has to show morale, while at the same time compensating for the absence of very important personnel in offense. They had a tough time against Venezia last time out, and the promoted team is not in a bad shape right now either.
I have therefore decided not to bet on Inter dominating their opponent. Instead, I think an over/under bet makes sense and say:
The 3.5 goals will not be surpassed!
