Conference League League Phase, Matchday 3, Thursday, 07.11.2024 at 21:00
A new week, a new matchday in the Conference League. On Thursday evening, the Blues welcome an admittedly unusual opponent.
With the Armenians, they face a team that is largely unknown but has already picked up a win in this competition.
However, my Chelsea Noah betting tip does not believe that the visitors will have even the slightest chance here.
Everything is going according to plan so far. As in the Champions League, this competition also features the new league mode at the start.
And precisely because the teams only have six games to play, it could be a tight race for the top of the table.
But after two games and two unchallenged victories, it should be easy for the Londoners to finish in the top eight.
However, there have been minor setbacks at national level recently. They lost to Newcastle United in the EFL Cup and were held to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday.
But let’s move on to one of my favorite disciplines in this competition: introducing the underdog that probably hardly anyone knows.
The Armenians were only founded in 2017, so they are still a relatively young club. However, they only won against leaders Urartu at the weekend.
With just seven goals conceded after ten league games, they have the best defense in the Armenian Premier League.
However, according to bookmaker Betway, the odds are not good that the visitors will be successful. The odds for at least three home goals in the Chelsea Noah betting tip are around 1.35.
So far, the Blues’ opponents in the Conference League have been more cannon fodder than a real challenge. No wonder.
After all, the Londoners’ squad is wide enough to field three different teams in three competitions. And each of them is first-class.
The duo of Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk impressed in the recent victory over Panathinaikos. The English side won both halves against the Greeks thanks to their goals.
The Blues have almost endless options going forward. Especially because this game is taking place in front of a home crowd and the visitors have to make the long journey.
But who knows, perhaps the home side will find it as difficult as Rapid Vienna did just over two weeks ago, when they only won 1-0.
The Armenians have now lost three of their last four games away from home in this competition (1U). They have only scored once during this period.
Should the visitors score, the odds for the Chelsea Noah bet are around 2.70 if you take a look at Bet365. Optimism looks different.
In any case, I have little faith in the visitors. The defeat in Vienna two weeks ago was close, but the Londoners are a completely different caliber, if you’ll pardon the pun.
Just like against Gent and Panathinaikos, they won’t show any weaknesses and will show why they are the top favorites for the title.
My Chelsea Noah tip is therefore: The Blues win with a handicap of -2!
