There is a new strong force in England – and it is blue! Chelsea FC really seems to be in the title race, which was not to be expected after the last few years.
The Blues naturally don’t want to interrupt their strong streak before Christmas, traveling to a relegation candidate on Sunday. And so I do in my Everton Chelsea tip like the bookmakers: Everything on the Blues, everything on an away win!
Two points behind – but of course knowing that the competitor could pull away to five with a catch-up game. There are teams that would be quite disturbed by this tabular situation.
But at Chelsea FC, they say: We are the first pursuer of Liverpool FC, hardly anyone would have expected that! In London, a team has come together that enjoys football and gives exactly that to the many fans.
Only two of the 16 games have been lost by the Blues, a 0-2 defeat to Manchester City on the first matchday and a 1-2 defeat to Liverpool in October. In addition to four draws, where there was always a 1-1, there have already been ten wins.
Chelsea are currently on a winning streak that couldn’t be stronger. 2-1 against Leicester, 3-0 against Aston Villa, 5-1 against Southampton, 4-3 against Tottenham and 2-1 against Brentford – they’ve won five in a row!
I really can’t criticize the offense at all, they scored a great 16 goals in these five games alone. Chelsea scored at least four goals in four of those games, the 0-2 loss to City on the first matchday was the only game without a Chelsea goal.
37 goals in total? That’s the best goal scoring record in the entire league! No wonder, then, that I immediately look for an offensive bet. An Over 1.5 goal at Oddset, for example, comes with odds of 1.57. If you go up a goal, the value increases to 2.75.
The fans are unlikely to be bothered by the fact that attacking football often comes at the expense of defense. Only three clean sheets were collected, with Chelsea keeping a clean sheet against Bournemouth, West Ham and Aston Villa.
In 12 of 16 cases, interesting for every tipster, the BTS would have been correct. 14 goals at home, 23 away? Oh no, the fact that the Londoners have to travel on Sunday is certainly not a disadvantage!
4:3 against Tottenham and 5:1 against Southampton, the last two away games alone could not have been more spectacular. With three wins in a row, the Blues are definitely comfortable away from home.
They have trailed away three times this season and only managed to win one of those games. The fact that Joao Felix is likely to miss out through injury should be easily compensated for, as Chelsea have an incredibly versatile line-up going forward.
Can they finally break their curse at Goodison Park? They have only won one of their last seven matches there, lost five times in that period and failed to score a goal on five occasions!
It is also interesting to note that there has only been one draw in the past 15 Premier League meetings – and that was on December 23 (2017), almost exactly seven years ago to the day.
Our tax-free betting providers are apparently not very interested in history, however, and they are clearly favoring Chelsea with average odds of 1.50 to 5.00 for the game – Everton only have themselves to blame.
The Toffees are not far from the relegation places with 15 points and are struggling in attack. Chelsea have scored 16 goals in their last five games – two more than Everton have scored in the entire season so far!
With 14 goals, the team has the second-worst offense, and they have already been completely scoreless eight times. 0-1 against Southampton, 0-0 against West Ham and Brentford, 0-4 against Manchester United, 4-0 against Wolves and another 0-0 against Arsenal?
The one win, oddly high, stands out from the last few weeks, the other results show the sad reality. Since the end of September, there has been exactly one match that offered goals on both sides.
At least Everton have managed to avoid defeat in five of seven games at their own stadium. 0-3 against Brighton and 2-3 against Bournemouth? They haven’t lost at home since those defeats in late summer!
Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Fulham, Brentford and Wolverhampton, the opponents against whom Everton have scored points at home, are not currently at the level of Chelsea.
It’s finally fun to watch Chelsea play again – as long as you’re not an Arsenal fan! The Blues are playing great football, are aggressive, score goals for fun and are in a real flow.
So it’s an ideal time to break the curse against Everton. Here at Goodison Park, Chelsea have been trembling for years, now the form fits – and that’s exactly what I couldn’t see in the opponent.
The Toffees are insecure, hardly win, and especially don’t score goals. In all relevant areas, I therefore consider the guests from London to be stronger and can therefore only tip:
Chelsea win at Everton!
