At the age of 30, Alessandro Schöpf will play in his Austrian homeland for the first time. The midfielder, who played in Germany’s top two leagues for 1. FC Nürnberg, FC Schalke 04 and Arminia Bielefeld, signed a contract with Wolfsberger AC on Thursday. Schöpf, who was trained by FC Bayern’s youth program, comes to the Carinthians from the Vancouver Whitecaps.
