Following their promotion to the third division, 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 is planning for the new season and officially announced the signing of goalkeeper Toni Stahl on Thursday afternoon. The 25-year-old is moving from relegated Hannover 96 II in Germany’s third-highest division to the Schnüdeln, where, according to managing director Markus Wolf, he will “strengthen the goalkeeping team and support them with his experience.” The Cottbus native was most recently the starting goalkeeper for 96 II and will now remain in the 3rd division. His new club did not disclose the length of the contract.
