It will be a really wild duel, in which Frankfurt will invest everything from the start to give themselves some breathing space in the fight for Europe.

Another setback for the hosts: Can Uzun was ruled out for Wednesday’s Europa League game as well as for the upcoming home game against Leverkusen.

Lucas Vázquez’s goal against Werder Bremen gave Bayer Leverkusen their first win of 2026 and revived their ambitions of Champions League qualification next season.

With currently 6th place and four points behind Leipzig, currently fourth, Leverkusen still remains in the fight for the European places, even if a catch-up game against Hamburg on 4 March is still pending.
Psychologically, the long delay of this game could be a factor, as Hjulmand’s team is competing with six other teams for three coveted Champions League places.
Loic Bade will miss Saturday’s game against Eintracht due to five yellow cards in the Bundesliga. Edmond Tapsoba’s availability is also still uncertain, but he has taken part in training and could be ready for action again by the home game against Frankfurt at the weekend.
