Kees Smit will probably leave AZ Alkmaar next summer despite a contract until 2028, he has now let that sound in an interview with “Mundo Deportivo”. Continuing to play in the Netherlands is “a possibility, but I don’t think that will happen”. The 19-year-old is a big fan of FC Barcelona, but Real Madrid are also said to have put out feelers – like so many top European clubs. “Basically, I just want to play a lot,” said the midfielder. “I don’t know yet what the best step is for me.”
