The first title is already here, the second is to follow! Sparta Prague want to round off the 2023/24 season by winning the cup and must travel to Pilsen on Wednesday. It’s finals time, so small things are likely to be decisive.

The grand final of the MOL Cup takes place on Wednesday, the third final in a row for Sparta. They lost in 2022 and 2023, once against Slovacko and the other time against city rivals Slavia

Sparta beat SFC Opava 2:0 in the semi-finals, while the previous round was a thrilling 3:2 after extra time in the derby against Slavia. Even more so than in the first two rounds, Sparta didn’t think much of clear-cut affairs here

The regular season in the Czech Fortuna League came to an end at the end of April, with the path leading to the playoffs. In the championship round, with one game remaining, things went very well for the team, or rather: they just kept going well
Three wins and a draw, now with a four-point lead over Slavia, there’s nothing left to lose. Only two defeats in the entire season, that’s really something to be proud of.

Wednesday’s game at the Doosan Arena in Pilsen could be an interesting one. Sparta have lost eight of their last nine matches here and won one of their last 16.
Pilsen are therefore a kind of fearful opponent, even if the odds in our sports betting apps do not suggest this. Viktoria come off a little better at an average of 2.20 to 2.80, but don’t forget that they are playing at home

I can’t really blame the team, after all they’ve known for a long time that the championship title is no longer on the cards. But now Pilsen can win the cup, and in front of their own fans.

Sparta have only lost two games, which is definitely something to be proud of. The team also has a lot more experience in the MOL Cup than the team that will be at home on Wednesday.
