Ajax Amsterdam – Lazio Rome Betting tip, prediction & odds 12/12/2024

Europa League, group stage, Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 9:00 pm

Three teams with the same number of points are at the top of our Europa League tips – and Lazio Rome has grabbed the place in the sun! The eagles are performing very confidently and want to secure direct qualification for the knockout round as quickly as possible.

On Thursday, a trip to a very demanding opponent is on the agenda and lo and behold: for once, the favorites are not favored!

In my Ajax Amsterdam Lazio Rome betting tip, I’ll tell you why I still believe in the Romans and therefore put the double chance X2 into the race.

Without a slip-up into the knockout round, far from unnecessary tension in the playoffs? Lazio Rome is well on its way to doing just that! The Italians got off to a flying start with four wins, but surprisingly missed out on success number five in a 0-0 draw against Rasgrad.

They beat Dynamo Kiev 3-0, Nice 4-1, Twente 2-0 and Porto 2-1. If you read these results carefully, you could of course say that the draw against Ludogorets was somehow obvious!

First twice with a three-goal lead, then two, one and now none at all. Lazio had already scored before half-time in all the games (except for the 0-0, of course), with seven of the eleven goals coming in the first half.

If the eagles score in the first 45 minutes on Thursday, too, top bookmaker Interwetten is offering a strong odds of 1.97.

Since the Italians have only conceded two goals, I can of course also praise the defense.

There is also more than praise to report from the betting provider Betano, which is giving all new customers a free bet of 20 euros…!

Away from home, they are still without fault, but Ajax Amsterdam is also a completely different caliber than Dynamo Kiev and Twente Enschede. In the Serie A, not surprisingly, Lazio is now also one of the best.

Last Sunday, it was the ideal dress rehearsal for the European Cup, the top game against Napoli was won 1-0! It was also the perfect response to the previous 1-3 defeat to Parma.

The fact that the Romans have conceded all four national defeats away from home shows, of course, that away games are not necessarily their strong suit now. And who knows, maybe that’s why the odds are exactly what they are.

Our bookies show an average of 3.15, whereas the odds for a win by the home team are 2.25. Incidentally, the two clubs have not yet played against each other.

Lazio have faced teams from the Netherlands 15 times, with Ajax Amsterdam now among them for the first time. With seven wins, two draws and five defeats, their record is quite promising.

While I’m in the middle of a little historical classification, how does Ajax fare against Italian teams? Amsterdam has played against Serie A clubs 55 times, losing 23 times.

But I don’t want to overstate that, because especially Juventus Turin and Milan have given Ajax some defeats in recent decades. The Godenzonen would be better off focusing on the current situation, after all, they are currently among the top eight teams.

Recently, they suffered their first defeat in the current competition, a 2-0 loss to Real Sociedad. Before that, Ajax had actually convinced every doubter, both defensively and offensively.

4:0 against Besiktas, 1:1 against Slavia Prague, 3:0 against Qarabag and 5:0 against Maccabi Tel Aviv, there wasn’t much to worry about. Three times 1:0, once 3:0, last time 0:0, in the first half the Dutch have not conceded a single goal.

After the two very successful home games, which ended 4-0 and 5-0, the fans are naturally hoping for another evening of goals. It’s worth forgetting that the national dress rehearsal ended in a 2-1 defeat to Alkmaar.

Lazio or Ajax, which European team is in better form? The Italians top the Europa League, are very solid defensively and score goals at the right times – and they have also beaten Napoli in the league!

I see this as a game between two evenly matched teams. Ajax are certainly a match for them, but somehow I suspect the visitors from the Eternal City will come out on top.

I could easily imagine a draw, for example, but I have decided to reduce the risk a little. And so my tip is:

Lazio will not lose in Amsterdam!
