Europa League, League Phase, Thursday, 12/12/2024 at 9:00 p.m.
A derby victory in the midst of the crisis? That MUST finally give them a boost! Besiktas is coming into our Europa League tips with a lot of momentum and is determined to get three points on Thursday.
The opponent is not easy and lo and behold: he is also clearly favored by our bookmakers!
Reason enough for me to take a close look at both teams and to tell you in my Bodö/Glimt Besiktas tip why I am reaching for a BTS here.
Besiktas had only picked up two points from their last five Süper Lig games while their opponents were flying high. The gap? Huge! So the fans had no great hopes last weekend when the derby against Fenerbahce was on the cards.
The result was all the more surprising: 1-0 to Besiktas! Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who had only just come on, turned the Vodafone Park into bedlam. There are, of course, good reasons why I am starting an analysis of the Europa League with a domestic eye.
Besiktas slid into a serious crisis at the end of October, fell a horrendous number of places in the league and now has little chance of winning the championship. This makes the European competition all the more important.
There, the black eagles show two completely different faces. It started with a disastrous 0-4 defeat to Ajax Amsterdam, followed by a 3-1 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The bookmaker Intertops offers a warmer welcome to all new customers. With a 50% bonus, it boosts initial deposits by a maximum bonus of up to 100 euros!
Against Olympique Lyon, one of the strongest opponents in the field, they even managed a 1-0 victory. After a 2-1 win against Malmö, many people were suddenly talking about direct qualification for the knockout rounds again.
However, the home game against Tel Aviv, which was actually considered a safe bet, was then lost 1-3 – and Besiktas left tens of thousands of fans baffled. The results don’t match up, and it’s hard to explain how the 1-0 win against Fenerbahce came about.
Against Olympique Lyon, one of the strongest opponents in the field, of all teams, they even managed a 1-0 victory without conceding a goal. After a 2-1 win against Malmö, many people were suddenly talking about direct qualification for the knockout rounds again.

It has only been a year since Besiktas and Bodö/Glimt last met. The Eagles lost 1-3 and 1-2 in the Conference League, so it’s no wonder that they are listed as outsiders on Thursday.
The odds that our Apple Pay bookmakers have for you, amount to an average of 4.10 to 1.75 from the guests’ point of view, which is already a very significant gap.
Although Bodö / Glimt only has one point more on the account. The Norwegians started really strongly, but have recently slowed down and thus slipped out of the leading group.
3:2 against Porto, 0:0 against Royale Union and 2:1 against Braga, the first seven points were already there. The 1:2 against Qarabag was a big surprise, and there was nothing to be gained in the 2:3 against Manchester United either.
The defense has already conceded at least two goals three times. I take this fact and take a quick look at Interwetten: Would it be profitable to bet that Besiktas will score twice on Thursday?
The odds for this tip would reach 2.50, so it would be profitable in any case. The Norwegians have already finished their league, so it won’t be easy for them to get back into the rhythm.
I wouldn’t read too much into the fact that they’ve only lost once at home. In the Europa League, the opponents are much stronger and, lo and behold, even Qarabag, one of the EL outsiders, managed to win here!
Will Besiktas really storm back from behind? The Black Eagles have had a dismal fall, which has led to a big gap in the Süper Lig. The derby victory against Fenerbahce should now spread a sense of optimism.
In the Europa League, anything is still possible, but the same applies to opponents Bodö/Glimt. I see both teams as more or less evenly matched, and I don’t quite support the clear favoritism of the Norwegians.
Since neither of them makes a particularly secure impression on the defensive side for me, I have decided to bet on a classic and say:
Both teams score!
