The gap must not get too big! Not everything is going according to plan for Arsenal FC in our Premier League championship betting, with small slip-ups regularly throwing the Gunners back. That’s why they can’t afford to make any mistakes on Saturday.
Their opponents arrive with the second-weakest offense and will be looking to continue their slight upward trend. Will they succeed? That’s what I want to find out in my Arsenal Everton betting tip and I’ll also tell you why I’m betting on a maximum of three goals, coupled with the double chance 1X.
It remains three wins in a row, you just can’t get a longer series! Not that Arsenal FC have been bad this season, but somehow that last bit of consistency just isn’t working out.
The Londoners had actually left a confident impression again after their crisis with two points from four games, winning against Nottingham (3:0), West Ham (5:2) and Manchester United (2:0).
The 1:1 draw against Fulham has now broken this streak. Can I still see the draw as a positive omen? The points have been shared four times before, and three times there was another win immediately afterwards.
Perhaps it also “helps” the team that they were away in the Champions League this week? They beat AS Monaco 3:0 on Wednesday, so why might that help?
The simple reason is that they have always scored points in the league after their first five group games. However, it would probably not be enough to avoid defeat on Saturday, the Gunners need victories in the fight for the title.
For the first time this season, they must therefore manage to win three home games in a row. Brighton and Liverpool, the Emirates Stadium has already witnessed two draws.
Only in the 1-1 draw against Brighton have they scored fewer than two goals, but they only scored more than three in the 4-2 defeat to Leicester – and Arsenal scored twice in stoppage time!
They scored eight times in the first half and nine times after the break, with Arsenal splitting the goals fairly overall. Since there have only been more than two goals twice (one was also scored very late in the 3-1 win against the Saints), it might be worth placing a bet here
, namely that Arsenal will score less than 2.5 goals on Saturday. At Interwetten, you can secure good odds of 1.65 for this bet, which could also pay off because Everton have only conceded more than one goal once since matchday four – but more on that later.
Everton have not always been a welcome opponent in recent years, but recently the Reds have been able to celebrate three wins in a row. What definitely works wonderfully are home games against the Toffees.
Ten of the past eleven have been won, with the favorites only failing once in April 2021. According to our bookmakers, the visitors’ chances of winning are likely to be relatively low. The odds are therefore an average of 1.25 to 12.0.
Everton were not in action last weekend, with the game against Liverpool being called off due to the weather. Their disastrous start with four defeats and 13 goals conceded has of course remained in the minds of their fans, although they have only lost two games since then
Or to put it another way: Everton have not lost eight of their last ten games. But since they have only won three times, that clearly shows that the many draws are costing too many points.
If you like watching games with lots of goals, you’re often wrong about Everton – even though they recently lost 4-0 to Wolverhampton and 0-4 to Manchester United!
Let me put it another way, games involving the Toffees are often relatively one-sided. In seven of the last eight, not both teams scored, six times the 2.5 goals were not cracked.
The own offense is struggling with 15 goals this season, the 4-0 against Wolves was a welcome change. Five clean sheets in the last eight rounds? That’s not bad at all!
Since matchday four, the only time they’ve conceded more than one goal was the 4-0 defeat to United, a brief relapse into the days fans had to endure right at the start of the season.
2:0 against Ipswich, 0:1 at Southampton, 0:0 against West Ham and most recently 0:4 at Old Trafford? Everton are not exactly letting their frustration get the better of them away from home. It’s also interesting to note that the Toffees have NEVER scored in the second half away from home
Everton FC is a curious club! In recent weeks, the Toffees have basically stabilized, especially their defense has become stronger and stronger. The 0:4 against Manchester United is considered a strict exception.
How will Arsenal deal with this unpleasant team? The Gunners are fundamentally strong at home, but sometimes struggle. There is also the pressure of having to win the title at all costs.
I can well imagine that the game will be a little closer than expected. The visitors play an almost disgusting brand of soccer, which is why I’m betting cautiously:
Arsenal score a maximum of three goals!
