European Football Championship, Tuesday, 02.07.2024 at 21:00
Red-white-red plays against red-white – but which red and white is the better one? On Tuesday evening, the European Championship round of 16 could not be more exciting.
Why? I’ll tell you in my Austria Turkey tip, because one nation in particular has really impressed!
These are the footballers flying the Austrian flag, who have cleaned up in the preliminary round. It’s clear that they don’t want to miss out on the quarter-finals.
What do the Austria Turkey odds say, are they also aiming for the Rangnick squad to be jubilant in the end and advance to a European Championship quarter-final for the first time in history?
Anyway, the average odds here are 1.90 to 4.30. This could also have something to do with the recent direct duel between the two teams, which went to the Austrians by a clear 6:1.
Whether past or present, there are a number of facts in my Austria-Turkey prediction that show why this could be a very fast-paced, lively game. And who knows, maybe 90 minutes won’t be enough before a decision is made?
In my analysis, I will now try to go into all the important statistics to underline why I would bet on a more offensive game. In other words: the over 2.5 goals is high on the agenda!
The bookmakers’ prediction Austria – Turkey
The Austrians go into this match as the favorites – logical, after all, they won such a demanding Group D. Therefore, if you want to bet on a win in regular time against Turkey, you can use odds of 1.9.
On the other side of the coin, the Turks have rather blundered their way into this knockout round and have not yet been convincing in 2024. And since just two wins is not much, the odds for betting tip 2 on Tuesday are also 4.30. Too high for you? Then maybe a free bet will help.
A draw and therefore extra time? Neither team played to a draw in the preliminary round. However, this seems to be an option for Tuesday, as the odds here are 3.40.
KI prediction Austria vs Turkey: What does ChatGPT think?
It may be new to some of you, but ChatGPT is now also producing its very own Austria Turkey AI prediction. I have picked out three bets that could be suitable for this duel and analyzed their chances.
On the one hand, we are given a 2:1 result bet for the Austrians. Realistic? In my eyes, very! Offensively, the Austrians are absolutely convincing, scoring six goals in the last two games alone.
On the other hand, they have always conceded one goal, so the 2:1 could very well be possible. Then there are two bets to choose from, one with relatively high risk, the other with low risk
According to the AI, the rather low risk is reached when Austria scores the first goal of the match. Definitely possible! Their form is simply better and Turkey’s defense is anything but solid.
And finally, there’s the bet that both teams will score before the break. The Austrians have done just that in their last two games.
Turkey? They’ve only scored once in the first 45 minutes. So I’m quite hesitant here, think the risk is a bit too high and would use the “normal” BTS instead, even if the odds are of course significantly lower here
Austria – Turkey odds: Where are the highest Austria Turkey odds?
With regard to the boost offers, my first glance falls on the Bet365 program. There are some bets that are relatively risky, but all the more worthwhile for that. Three tips are summarized here.
The first suggestion: Austria win, the 2.5 goals are exceeded and Marko Arnautovic scores within the match, no matter when. The odds here are boosted to 5.50, so the value is not that high.
Bet365 also offers a three-way combination that includes another player in the program. Here it is important that Austria progresses in the end, regardless of how. For this to happen, goals must be scored by both sides and one of them must be scored by Marcel Sabitzer. The odds: 9.00.
NeoBet has another boost to report, which is a little less risky. Here, Austria must be the winner after 90 minutes +X and BTS must be fulfilled. In this case, you can look forward to odds of 4.50.
Analysis: Austria vs Turkey
Is a new soccer great awakening on the international stage? Is Ralf Rangnick alone responsible for the great upswing? And where is the current strength supposed to lead!
Everyone is talking about the Austrian national team. There were already signs last year of the great potential that lies dormant within the squad, but now the team is finally showing its full potential
After the draw, there was still a lot of skepticism, because: France, the Netherlands and Poland were three high-caliber opponents. The first match was against the Equipe Tricolore.
Austria kept up very well, only losing 1:0 in the end due to an own goal, but the soccer world had noticed that someone could really keep up with the star team.
And lo and behold, everything went much better in the second game against Poland. They won 3:1, and there were even several chances to make the win even bigger.
On the third and final match day of the preliminary round, it was all to play for against Holland, with Oranje definitely the favorites. However, Austria took the lead twice and the Netherlands equalized twice. The best nerves? Marcel Sabitzer had them in the 80th minute of the game
Odds analysis
In terms of further bets, I inevitably end up with “Both teams score”. Both Turkey and Austria have only played one international match in 2024 without conceding a goal – so you shouldn’t miss the odds of 1.70.
I’ll stay in the offensive area for now. Since I think the result of 2:1 is extremely realistic, I’ll take a look at what Bwin is offering if we let Austria score more than 1.5 goals. A 1.93, that sounds more than profitable!
Schmid, Sabitzer, Trauner, Baumgartner and Arnautovic? If you leave out the own goal, five different players scored the Austrian goals. Michael Gregoritsch is still without a goal. He is the one I trust to score the first goal on Tuesday, for this you can use odds around 2.70.
The new soccer power from Austria?
The underdogs celebrated a 3:2 win and actually progressed to the last 16 as group winners. It is the first time ever that they have reached the round of 18 (or previously eight) at a European Championship.
The last time they faced Turkey was in March of this year. The result? A perfect 6:1! It was the first meeting since 2016, and this pairing had never been played at a tournament anyway.
I’ll ignore the direct comparison at this point and jump straight into the analysis of Turkey. They qualified for this knockout round by finishing second behind Portugal in Group F.
Does Turkey have their nerves under control?
Two wins and a draw, so far so good. But has Turkey been really convincing? I wouldn’t necessarily answer that question with yes. The tournament began with a 3:1 win against Georgia, with the decisive third goal coming just before the final whistle.
A few days later, the Reds suffered a 3-0 defeat against Portugal, where they really had no chance of scoring. Everything was decided in the match against the Czech Republic
An intense match developed in which both sides were on fire. The Turks were lucky: They were spared a sending-off, which should have been given, but the Czech side were shown a red card.
In the end, Vincenzo Montella’s men won 2:1, cheered by tens of thousands of fans as they reached the round of 16. It was only the second win of the current calendar year, but a very important one.
The team only managed one goal without conceding, which means that they certainly have problems defensively. For the first time since 2008, they are now back in the knockout round of the European Championship, and fans will remember that they went all the way to the semi-finals back then!
My Austria Turkey tip:
Austria and Turkey, two teams that are known for their wild games – but who is more convincing overall? I’m really interested in this round of 16, because there’s a lot of potential here, especially in attack. Hakan Calhanoglu and Patrick Wimmer are suspended, but there is still plenty of material available.
The Austrians definitely appealed to me more, whoever beats the Netherlands and only loses to France due to an own goal can go much further than just the round of 16.
The goal threat they exude is enormous, but at the same time they are constantly conceding goals – the same applies to Turkey. All in all, I have therefore decided on the following bet in my Austria Turkey betting tip:
The 2.5 goals will be surpassed!
