Bundesliga matchday 15, Friday, 20.12.2024 at 20:30
The first half of our Bundesliga 1 betting tips feels like it’s coming to an end this weekend – but somehow not quite yet!
There are only 15 matchdays in the first half of the 2024 season, and it’s already clear who will go into the new year as league leaders – and therefore Christmas champions.
In my Bayern RB Leipzig betting tip, the main question is therefore what lead Munich will take into 2025 – after all, their comfortable cushion has shrunk somewhat of late.
And then, after the defeat in Mainz, I come along and say: A one-nil win against Leipzig will be nothing!
I’m betting on goals from both teams, because the Bulls have been keeping the German record champions pretty busy for a few years now. What’s more, if the competition plays along, the visitors could finish second in the table.
Or am I artificially building up tension here that doesn’t actually exist? According to our tax-free bookmakers, the winner is already clear: the Bayern RB Leipzig odds are an average of 1.35 to 8.20.
And that’s despite the fact that the Saxons have only lost one of their last five competitive matches against FCB! What this is all about and why I expect a relatively close match is now revealed in my Bayern RB Leipzig prediction.
The oddsmakers’ forecast?
As is the case when FC Bayern play at home: You can’t argue away the role of favorite! In the current case, the values fluctuate between 1.30 and 1.40, which is clear.
The visitors from Leipzig are sometimes given 6.50, but in some places the odds even rise to 8.50! You don’t really want to hear that, given that Munich have not lost four of their last five matches.
Nobody would really be satisfied with a draw. However, since some of the last direct duels were also quite close, you should not completely rule out the draw – the odds for the points split make it to an average of 5.60.
KI prediction Bayern vs RB Leipzig: ChatGPT
How does ChatGPT deal with the knowledge that FC Bayern recently conceded their first defeat of the season? Somehow quite fearless, because the suggestions spit out by the AI are sure to please FCB supporters.
Want to place a low-risk bet? Then simply go for a classic win for the hosts. A 1.40 is still achievable in the best case, a three-pointer would give the Munich team a much more relaxed Christmas.
If these odds are too low, it’s better to start with the medium-risk betting suggestion. Here I get a 0:1 handicap suggested – daring! RB have only lost clearly once in the Bundesliga, and since October 2017 there has only been one Bayern victory in this duel with a lead of more than one goal. Therefore: caution is advised!
A result bet is of course always to be found in the high risk area, here we are dealing with a 3:1. In my opinion, it’s better to think one size smaller and go for 2:1!
Analysis: Bayern vs RB Leipzig
The lead is melting – but there’s still no sign of ice and snow outside in Germany! FC Bayern are a little worried that this shortened first half of the season will not end as successfully as they would have liked.
Last weekend, they lost 2-1 to Mainz for the first time – the uninspired performance was simply not good enough. It was a result that, together with the previous two results, doesn’t look particularly commanding.
Munich had won five in a row without conceding a goal before only drawing 1-1 at BVB – and the 4-2 win against Heidenheim wasn’t that convincing either! So the defense is suddenly allowing much more again.
Two goals conceded twice in a row – something that had never happened before this season. The 0:1 defeat to Leverkusen, which resulted in their elimination from the DFB Cup, also came into this unflattering series.
Rating Analysis
When two strong teams meet, a number of bets are naturally suitable. Since Bayern have been struggling against Leipzig for years and only win narrowly, if at all, I’m picking up a handicap. A 2:0 HC from RB creates a great 1.93 at Oddset.
At the same time, with FCB missing some key players, I think the Saxons can get off to a fast start. If Leipzig scores the first goal of the match, the odds at Bet365 jump to a strong 3.75.

Benjamin Sesko is doing really well at Leipzig at the moment, scoring twice in a row for the first time. Therefore, he could also be successful at the Isar, the corresponding goalscorer bet brings us odds of 4.30.
Bayern vs. RB Leipzig: Will the personnel failures decide?
The record champions must not let what happened to them in the fall happen again. Back then, they failed to win two games in a row and drew against Leverkusen and Frankfurt.
Of course, the league leaders, who still have a four-point lead over the Werkself, are also a little short of personnel. Harry Kane, who scored 14 times in the league before his injury, is a big miss for FCB.
Kingsley Coman and Alphonso Davies, two of the club’s fastest stars, are out, while Serge Gnabry is also not fit. Manuel Neuer was also recently ruled out and will not be back between the posts until the new year.

RB now like to play against the record champions
Any man is needed against Leipzig, the most recent duel was won by the skin of their teeth 2:1 in stoppage time – and both goals came from Harry Kane, who can only watch this time.
Munich had previously been winless against RB four times in a row, and in the Bundesliga it had almost never been the case that they could virtually take Leipzig apart.
Three times there was a victory with a lead of more than one goal, which had not been achieved in their own stadium for more than seven years. The clearest home win in history? That was achieved in the very first clash in 2016.
When? On December 21, just one day later than this time! Perhaps this is a good omen, although the Bulls will naturally prefer to focus on the more recent historical events.
Leipzig had a first half of the season that was characterized by ups and downs. In the Champions League, for example, they failed to pick up a single point, meaning that from now on they will focus solely on domestic competition.
After a crisis in the league (1:2 against Dortmund, 0:0 against Gladbach, 3:4 against Hoffenheim and 1:5 against Wolfsburg), Leipzig now seem to have recovered.
First they won 2:0 against Holstein Kiel, then – and this victory should certainly be rated much more highly – 2:1 against Frankfurt. RB also celebrated a win against SGE in the cup, which turned out to be a really big 3-0 victory.
It is impossible to explain why the team slumped so badly a few weeks ago. First they conceded just three goals in their first eight games and collected six white vests, then Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim scored a combined NINE times!
From the White & Reds’ point of view, we can only hope that things will now improve and that they can record their third win in a row. In principle, anything can happen on the road – both victories against the German champions and the 3:4 humiliation against Hoffenheim have been observed.
Kiel, Mainz, Heidenheim and St. Pauli? Leipzig played these four clubs to nil away from home. Three of this quartet are at the bottom of the table, with only Mainz at the top.
Incidentally, this is the first time this season that Leipzig have been sent out onto the pitch on a Friday. Bayern’s only previous match in 2024/25 was against Augsburg, a 3-0 win for the record champions.
My Bayern RB Leipzig tip:
Don’t stumble over RB Leipzig again! Bayern must end 2024 with a win if they want to maintain their lead. However, I quickly found out that the Bulls are a damn unpleasant opponent.
Most head-to-head duels are really close, there are hardly any clear Bayern victories. On top of that, Munich are also missing a few stars. So I’m assuming that the visitors will play a lively game.
They also have a chance because Munich’s defense is suddenly much shakier again and Manuel Neuer won’t be involved anyway. For these reasons, I have decided on the following tip:
Nobody plays to nil – both score!
