Last chance to win the cup! Besiktas are having a season to forget in the Süper Lig, but can now regain some breathing space by reaching the final of the Türkiye Kupasi. A tendency? Not yet after the first leg.

The team has only made it to the final once in the last twelve years, winning the cup against Antalyaspor in 2021. Whether the current draw is even a bad omen, an indication that elimination awaits on Tuesday?
I can only find one other semi-final appearance in this period, and that was in 2018. After a draw against Fenerbahce, they lost the second leg and were unable to fight for the title.
Admittedly, Ankaragücü, the current opponent, cannot be compared to Fenerbahce. Nevertheless, Besiktas only managed a 0:0 away from home. One defeat in the last 35 matches? Ankaragücü would actually be a favorite opponent in itself
Maybe the fact that Besiktas are playing in their own stadium will help them on Tuesday. 16 wins and one draw? The results against Ankaragücü in recent years are incredibly strong!

Last weekend, Besiktas fought their way to a narrow 3-2 win over Rizespor in the league, only the third time in the entire season that they have scored more than two goals.
The one time that this worked out in the cup should be included, as Eyüpspor were not really a strong opponent in round one. There were later victories against Antalyaspor (2:1) and Konyaspor (2:0).
How will Ankaragücü deal with the fact that they face a trip to one of their most feared opponents? This is the first time since 2000 that the team has reached the semi-finals of the Kupasi and the third time in total that they have made the top four.
A final? It was actually played once, when they lost to Galatasaray after extra time in 1991. So it was not necessarily to be expected that the Yellow and Blacks would make it this far this season
The lead over the relegation places in the league is just four points, although only one of the last six games has been lost. 2-7-8? The results of the away games quickly show that Ankaragücü much prefer to play at home.
Their last win in the Süper Lig came in November, making the cup trip all the more pleasing. Especially because the underdogs actually managed to beat Fenerbahce 3:0 (at home, of course) in the quarter-finals!
Before this sensation, the opponents were easier, Ankaragücü won 5:1 against 24 Erzincanspor, beat Rizespor 3:1 and knocked the lower-ranked opponents Iskenderunspor (3:1) and Arguvan SK (2:0) out of the competition.
Can Besiktas at least get their act together in the cup? With the league season having gone completely off the rails, the Eagles must now show a little more after the 0-0 draw in the first leg against Ankaragücü.
Home games against the moneybags are a favorite here in Istanbul. A defeat is actually out of the question, but Ankaragücü also beat Fenerbahce by three goals in the quarter-finals.
As the home side are under enormous pressure to save their season with the cup final, I reckon the visitors at least have a chance of making the game close. And that’s why my tip is:
