After the end of his contract with Borussia Dortmund, Salih Özcan was recently without a club for nine days. That changed late on Thursday evening: The Turkish international, who had already been eliminated in the group stage of the World Cup with his nation, signed a three-year contract with Besiktas Istanbul. In the Turkish metropolis, the 28-year-old midfielder will meet another ex-Bundesliga legionnaire (VfB Stuttgart and Bayern Munich) in goalkeeper Alexander Nübel.
