VfL Bochum – Bayer Leverkusen betting tip
The same procedure as last Match, Leverkusen? Yes, the same procedure as EVERY Match, Fans! The classic “Dinner for One” evening may only come around once a year, but Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeatability lasts the entire season.
In our 1st Bundesliga tips, the Werkself only have to hold out twice more before they have actually managed to go the whole season without defeat. Or will VfL Bochum, of all teams, manage to defeat the invincibles after all?
The newly crowned Europa League finalists could actually sit back and relax, as they are already champions. In terms of the competition, however, Bayer naturally want to stay focused, as there is still a lot at stake for their opponents
VfL want to celebrate relegation with their fans on Sunday evening, our bookmakers don’t expect a surprise, even though Leverkusen don’t need any more points, and the odds are 4.50 to 1.70 accordingly.
But: It’s not for nothing that VfL score in every home game. In my Bochum Leverkusen betting tip, I’ll tell you why everything looks like an offensive affair to me and why I’m betting on the combination of “Both teams to score” and “Over 2.50 goals”. Happybet provides us with the corresponding odds of 1.60.
The prediction of the bookmakers?
Bochum have only lost one of their last five home games against Leverkusen, but our bookmakers are less likely to predict a home win on Sunday. Should VfL nevertheless prevail, the average odds would jump to 4.50.
Of course, we don’t need to talk about the many Leverkusen victories at this point, but it is interesting that the odds for a win against Bochum are relatively high this time. An average of 1.70 can be achieved here.
Half of Bochum’s home games have ended with exactly one point. Should VfL pose problems for the champions and manage a draw, you would get average odds of 4.25 on this bet
Analysis: Bochum vs Leverkusen
The goals for the last two matchdays: stay in rhythm, avoid injuries and keep concentration high. Anything purely sporting? Probably not, after all, the Bundesliga 1 has long since been decided!
The Bayer Leverkusen legend is hard to explain in 2023/24. Xabi Alonso’s team simply cannot lose, no matter what the score is after 80 minutes. National or European? It doesn’t matter!
Of course, the Werkself didn’t become German champions with a huge amount of luck, but anyone with 26 wins and six draws after 32 matchdays has definitely done a lot right
Before the recent 5:1 against Eintracht Frankfurt, the points had been shared against both Dortmund (1:1) and Stuttgart (2:2), both times the equalizer came at virtually the same time as the final whistle.
Late goals are no longer a trademark only in the Bundesliga. A few days ago, in the semi-finals of the Europa League, they hosted AS Roma after a 2-0 win in the first leg
Odds analysis
In terms of the 1×2 bets, I’m actually against an away win. Bochum have already beaten Stuttgart and Bayern at home, and the Werkself could still have the EL celebrations hanging over them. But since Leverkusen can’t lose, I’m going for a draw.
The home side have the second-worst defense in the league, but they score in every home game. I can therefore well imagine that the fans will witness a few goals. My tip therefore: “Over 3.50 goals” at odds of 2.25.
Leverkusen are known throughout Europe for their last-minute goals. Recently, there have been regular deficits and Bochum naturally want to show their best side in the last home game of the season. I therefore believe that VfL will start like a fire engine and push for the first goal. At Bwin you would get odds of 2.50 for this
Leverkusen and stoppage time
Bayer conceded two penalties against Roma and suddenly the score was 0:2. But Leverkusen wouldn’t be Leverkusen if their nerves suddenly started to fray. As soon as the 80 minutes were up, the team did things again that only they can do in 2023/24.
First they scored the equalizer and then, at the last moment of stoppage time of course, Josip Stanisic scored to make it 2:2. So the Werkself didn’t lose, point, out, over. The competition doesn’t matter at all.
Of course, it’s true luxury problems when I say that we’ve conceded one goal in the last three league games. It’s statistics like these that show that everything is going well this season
Will Bochum surprise the next top team?
Bayer could now become the second team in Bundesliga history to remain unbeaten away from home in all 17 games; only FC Bayern have achieved this feat twice, in 1986/87 and 2012/13.
In the first half of the season, the match against Bochum was a very clear 4:0, and they have only lost one of their last nine games against VfL. However, the leaders don’t really like traveling to Bochum.
They have won one of their last five away matches, and a year ago, on matchday 34, they lost 3-0! Can the hosts from Bochum build on this result?
After a long crisis, the team has recovered in time. 3:2 against Hoffenheim and 4:3 against Union Berlin, these two spectacles have ensured that things are now looking very good again in terms of relegation.
Four points clear of the relegation places, that could be something! Offensively, the last two matches were of course very successful, but defensively that cannot be said at all.
Bochum have now conceded 65 goals, only Darmstadt with 76 can top that. They have only conceded once in 2023/24, when they beat VfB Stuttgart 1-0 in January.
Both Stuttgart and FC Bayern were beaten at home, and VfL were long considered unbeatable at home. It was only when the crisis began in March that defeats two and three were added to the list
Eight draws at home, twelve in total – the Blues are very fond of sharing points. Home games have definitely not been boring recently, which is also due to the fact that Bochum always score at home.
3:2 against Hoffenheim, 1:1 against Heidenheim, 2:2 against Darmstadt, 1:2 against Freiburg, 1:4 against Leipzig, 3:2 against Bayern? Goals on both sides have long been the order of the day.
For 22 games at home this season, Leverkusen have actually scored every time, a club record dating back to the 1970s. Since Leverkusen’s 82 goals are already historic for the Werkself, both offensives could cause a sensation on Sunday
My Bochum Leverkusen tip:
Bayer Leverkusen have it in their own hands: Will they actually finish this season without defeat and with three titles? This team simply can’t lose, even if they do concede goals from time to time.
With Bochum, I quickly realized that they actually always score. On the other hand, the second-worst defense has problems defending, which the visitors can exploit.
If their rivals don’t get ahead at the weekend, Bochum could even have secured their place in the league before kick-off. Since there’s not that much at stake for Leverkusen, I’m going for the following bet:
For goals on both sides the 2.5 will be cracked!
