Premier League, Tuesday, 14.01.2025 at 20:30
There were no Premier League games last weekend, but the English clubs are still in constant action. This is because both teams involved in my Brentford Manchester City prediction competed in the FA Cup.
In recent weeks, I have successfully backed the Citizens several times in my tips. However, there are good reasons to believe that Tuesday’s Brentford Community Stadium assignment won’t be an easy one for the defending champions this time around.
The Citizens continue their strong form against WHU, while Liverpool at the top of the table continue to show no signs of wanting to relinquish that position voluntarily.
On the contrary, the Reds could even strengthen with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, which would make them even more dangerous in the championship race.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola has only one thing on his mind: the upcoming opponent and the hope that Liverpool will start to stumble in 2025 after all.
Brentford recently celebrated a 5-0 thumping of Southampton, which was absolutely necessary. After five competitive games without a win, the success against the Saints was a much-needed sign of life.
However, a single three-pointer is not enough to conceal the recent poor form. Brentford have been particularly disappointing away from home this season.
But here comes the big but: The home side are a completely different team at Brentford Community Stadium. The team have picked up 22 of their 27 points so far at home.
The Bees regularly develop a remarkable dynamism in front of their home crowd – a point that Guardiola and Co. will not underestimate.
Interwetten’s new customer bonus is also dynamic. Click on the graphic, sign up and collect up to 100 euros for your bets.
However, numerous statistics speak in favor of the Citizens. Guardiola’s side have not only won all three competitive matches against Brentford in 2024, but will also travel to London with an almost complete squad.
Key players who were missing in the first half of the season are now available again and the automatisms are working better and better.
But here comes the catch: the Brentford Manchester City odds for an away win, which are around 1.55, seem far too low to me. The value is simply not attractive enough to bet on.
In my view, the draw odds are much more interesting, as they offer significantly more scope for “value” at around 4.40 – the risk/reward ratio is much better here!
Although the form curve is more in Manchester City’s favor, the game in London could still be more difficult than expected. The Bees will go into the game with their confidence boosted after their thumping win over Southampton.
They also know that they are a real force at home. I expect an even opening phase in which Brentford will once again show a lot of energy.
An early goal from the hosts is also within the realms of possibility, even if the Citizens could then take command.
There are some interesting clues for this possible course of the game, which I won’t withhold from you in the next paragraph!
I find the statistics for Brentford’s home games against the Citizens particularly interesting. In four Premier League duels in which Manchester City conceded a goal against the Bees, it was always the Londoners’ opening goal.
A prime example: Yoane Wissa scored after just 22 seconds to make it 1-0 in the first-round duel, so the odds of 2.45 on Brentford scoring the first goal again this time are worth considering for me.
So if you also want to bet on an early goal for the home side, this is an interesting offer.
If you want to bet on goals, you shouldn’t just focus on Erling Haaland. Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is on a par with the Norwegian goalscorer with nine home goals this Premier League season.
Yoane Wissa has also shone with eight goals in front of his home crowd and ranks third in the league in this statistic. This makes the Bees a strong attacking force at Brentford Community Stadium, which has already caused problems for many opponents.
In addition, the odds for both Brentford players to score against ManCity on Tuesday are much more interesting than those of the Norwegian at an average of 3.00 and 2.87 respectively.
Also interesting: A sports betting bonus in 2025 offers you ideal opportunities to maximize your stakes.
Whether as a welcome bonus, cashback or free bet – such offers provide you with additional capital to get started without too much risk.
Especially in a year full of exciting sporting events, you can try out new betting strategies and potentially increase your winnings. Many providers now even offer personalized bonuses that perfectly match your preferences.
Conclusion: The defending champions have anything but an easy task ahead of them.
Brentford are a home-strong side who have stumbled a little recently, but are performing much better than the draw odds of around 4.40 advertised for Tuesday would suggest – the risk/reward ratio of this offer seems particularly attractive to me.
Incidentally, don’t be surprised if the Londoners are the first to take the lead and the Citizens then have to give everything to equalize. The “Bees” often start like the proverbial fire department at home.
My Brentford Manchester City: Double chance 1X.
