Premier League, Thursday, 25.04.2024
Just before the end of the season, both the Seagulls and the Cityzens are feeling the strain of recent weeks and months.
Now the two meet on Thursday evening. For the visitors, the main aim is to reclaim top spot in the table.
Based on their record on the south coast, I reckon the visitors are the clear favorites in the Brighton Manchester City betting tip
For coach Roberto De Zerbi’s squad, it was clear from the outset that they would not be able to repeat last season’s success.
Participating in the Europa League was a dream come true for many Seagulls fans. The day-to-day business was somewhat neglected
Because the goal in the league must now be to at least achieve a single-digit place in the table. They are currently in tenth place.
However, their form is currently a little worrying. They have not won in five league games (2U, 2N). They also conceded a home defeat against Arsenal for the first time in 12 games (6S, 6U).
The Sky Blues are now the next championship contenders. However, Guardiola’s side are currently having problems of their own.
They were knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter-finals against Real Madrid. The FA Cup final against Chelsea at the weekend naturally did them good. They “only” have two titles left to win.
For the first time since May 2022, the Cityzens could now score four or more goals for the fourth time in a row, having done so against Villa, Palace and Luton.
You can find odds of around 4.00 for this scenario in the Brighton Manchester City betting tip at Bet3000 Sportsbook.
But where does this, shall we say, pessimism of the bookmakers come from? Well, four goals is a decent haul, which even the champions have to drill first.
In the past seven meetings with the Seagulls, however, they have only managed to do so once. In this respect, I would set the lever a little lower in the Brighton Manchester City betting tip.
Even for over 2.5 away goals, the odds with the bookmakers at Intertops are still around 2.20.
If that’s still too uncertain for you – after all, the Skyblues have had a tough program recently – I recommend a different type of bet.
ManCity have taken the lead in 12 of their 13 Premier League games so far. They have won eleven times.
If they score first and win, Bet at Home offers odds of 1.65.
The coastal side, who are otherwise so happy to play, have had relatively little going forward in recent weeks. They have scored just four goals in their last seven games.
It is therefore a blessing for the team that Joao Pedro, one of their most dangerous attackers, has returned from injury. He scored ten of his 12 goals this season after the half-time break
Will he be able to make his mark on his team again? Phil Foden probably has a much better chance of doing so.
He has scored six goals in the last seven duels with the Seagulls – he has not scored more often against any other team. Another goal would be his 50th PL goal in total!
Whether Foden scores or not and regardless of how fresh the Cityzens’ legs are, I rate their individual class as too high for the hosts.
The Seagulls are still feeling the strain of the long season. The ongoing turmoil surrounding De Zerbi’s future is not necessarily helping matters.
Therefore, my Brighton Manchester City tip is: The Skyblues will win and at least two goals will be scored
